I'm playing through the game without buying anything to refill my health any body armor or guns/ammo. I am, however, picking up all these things during missions.

Everything was going fine until I got a bit carried away at Francis' funeral, and I now have around 1/4 of my total health and no body armor. The only other missions that I have available are the last two missions for Bernie (Buoys Ahoy and collecting the car from Bryce Dawkins?) and the missions for Gerald whilst he's in prison. I can't think of either of these missions providing me with easy health/armor pick ups?

Anyway, the problem is that I keep getting killed whilst rushing to Jimmy Peg's aid, or he's dying as I can't get to him quickly enough.

Any tips?

After the first shoot-out you will be instructed to rescue Pegorino from the Pavanos. Instead of entering the warehouse where all the assailants are waiting to attack, go up the concrete steps and make a mad-dash (change weapon to pistol or fist so that you can sprint) along the outside wall of the building (the wide open paved area). You will be shot at, but it should be possible to get to Jimmy even with 1/4 health remaining. When you get to the rear of the warehouse Jimmy is slumped against a wall.

So, you can complete that part of the mission without firing a single shot!

After the scripted car chase there is a health pack on the ground where the Pavanos car crashes.
