True Story

:
The rear wheels locked up and the car gracefully glided around the ninety degree bend. Looking in the mirror I could still see the blue and red lights reflecting on the walls of buildings but for now at least there were no police on my tail. I drove around for maybe twenty minutes changing direction and moving from street to street often to try to avoid being picked up again. There had to be a garbage truck around here somewhere. As sun broke on the streets of Liberty City I knew I was running out of time, but then again maybe this was a perfect time to borrow a garbage truck. I rounded the corner into a small side street and there it was. The garbage men were busy collecting yesterdays trash bags from the side-walk so the truck was moving at a crawl. I slowly approached but then, stupidly, decided that a more direct approach would be a better plan: easing the handbrake up I performed a perfect handbrake turn in front of the truck and now facing the driver I aimed my gun at him through the hole where the side window used to be. He raised his hands and I stepped out of the car.
I walked slowly towards the drivers side door. My hand must have been no more than six inches from the handle when the the driver decided he didnt want to discuss lending me this vehicle and smashing into my already heavily damaged car he sped off with two garbage men desperately holding on as he swerved, possibly to avoid gun fire which never actually came. I knew there was no chance of hitting anything but metal with this piece of sh*t pistol so I was going to have to make chase again. Looking at my Turismo, I could see it wasnt going to last much longer, but searching the street north and south a better alternative didnt present itself. As I moved away in the wreck it felt like it wasnt tracking straight, and the black smoke that was bellowing from the engine was doing nothing for my confidence. The only saving grace was that, being a mid engined car, I wasnt getting a mouthful of smoke through the broken window.
As I pushed down on the throttle it became harder and harder to keep the car driving straight. But when did that ever stop me speeding before! I buried the accelerator and threw the car into a corner but as the it leaned one of the front tires gave up and sparks flew from the underside of the car. Oversteer became understeer as I applied opposite lock to try to correct and as the it spun around I saw the back of the garbage truck heading down a side street to the left and the next thing I knew I was sliding side ways into an oncoming vehicle.
Opening my eyes, the only thought that occured to me was "what are the odds?" - Of course it was a cop car I had just hit, why wouldn't it be? Both of the dohnut eating coffee swilling pigs were standing in front of me guns drawn. I wasnt going to get out of this one. I was already injurred. But since I would much rather end up in the hospital than the LCPD I exited the car and ran, only to be shot by the fattest of the two 'officers of the law'. I had to give it to him, it was a nice shot.
I woke up in a strange bed. It didnt look like a hospital and it wasnt like any police cell that I'd ever seen. There was no piss on the floor for starters. I swung my legs out of bed carefully expecting to feel, at the very least, a sharp pain from the bullet wound through my shoulder...Nothing. Standing up I felt like a new born baby! No pain at all so I quickly got dressed and headed down stairs. I didnt know where this was or how I got here and to be honest I didnt want to. There was a set of keys on the table by the front door so I took them and headed outside. By the looks of the keys I expected to find chavos or maybe a feroci but to my suprise there was a car that I hadn't seen before. A small 3 door. It was fine for now anyway so I took off leaving that strange house behind me.
The roads weren't anything like I'd seen in Liberty. They were thin and winding. Approaching a junction they widened up a little but they still weren't anything like you would see in LC. I sped up to a steady seventy but something didnt feel right. The car wasnt reacting like usual, I put it down to it being a piece of crap but I couldnt shake the feeling that it was something more. I instintively took a left at the next junction and as I turned I saw it...A garbage truck coming in the other direction. I wasnt going to let it get away from me this time so I swerved towards it and was now on a head on collision course. The feeling of something being not quite right flooded my head again and every instinct in my body was telling me to avoid hitting that garbage truck. I swerved to the left and avoided the garbage truck by a couple of feet. I knew it was close because his flashing lights blinded me through the side window as it flew past. Looking in the rear view mirror I wondered if I should turn around but suddenly I had an epiphany...I should just go to work!
