| QUOTE (GroveStRoamer @ Saturday, Jun 16 2012, 12:24) | | There is no way I will get the game if there is super powers. No way. Changing the complete realism of the game will destroy the Gta series. | Again, it's DLC.

| QUOTE (Inf3rn0 @ Friday, Jun 15 2012, 23:26) | I think that as DLC you should be able to give your player powers. Here are a few examples of similar games that managed to pull it off.
inFamous 2

| QUOTE | | Incredible freedom of movement, intense combat, and an enthralling story make Infamous an impressive open-world action game. |
-GameSpot
Infamous is one of my favorite franchises, for many reasons. But the reason I'm using it as an example is because of the way it manages to show not just how cool it is to be able to shoot lightning (among other things) from your fingertips, but also the stress and responsibility that comes with them. Also, it gives you the ability to become a hero or to become an anti-hero, and whichever side you choose makes a large difference in the story. And the choices you make have permanent consequences.
Prototype

| QUOTE | | This open-world action game set in Manhattan is proof that even viral outbreaks can be incredibly fun if they're done right. |
-GameSpot
Now I haven't actually played Prototype, so I'll just copy this excerpt from IGN's review.
| QUOTE | | You are Alex Mercer. What exactly that means is initially unclear because this is a man who has lost his memory, but awoken in a morgue to a world in which he possesses untold power. A viral outbreak has claimed Manhattan, forcing the island into a military quarantine. The infected citizens are undergoing radical, monstrous changes -- none more drastic than Alex himself. This anti-hero finds himself with the ability to shape shift and absorb other beings. As the most powerful being on a closed island, the entire city is your playground. |
-IGN
Do you think R* could pull it off? How would the story go? Anything you want to add?
Discuss.
PS: Please don't post how that would ruin GTA. I'm saying it should be DLC so that you have the choice of doing it. | GTA V is supposed to be realistic, so unless if you can turn into a f*cking spiderman GTFO

But people bought it and enjoyed it. I think 2% of the GTA community would enjoy super powers. |
You could have made the exact same argument for Undead Nightmare. Regardless, it would be a DLC, which means it would be completely optional. | QUOTE (GroveStRoamer @ Saturday, Jun 16 2012, 15:24) | | There is no way I will get the game if there is super powers. Realism: - Missiles floating just above the air instead of impacting directly into the floor.
- Still being able to do everything normally after being shot at a thousand times.
- Being magically healed by a single First-Aid kit or a hot dog/soda pop.
- Making a miraculous recovery from falling from the Empire State building directly into concrete in under a day with zero repercussions.
- Having extremely hazardous missiles magically appear in our pockets.
- Having an entire artillery magically appear out of and into our pockets.
- Police being okay with speeding/reckless driving/vandalism.
- Police just forgetting about the guy who just killed an entire legion of officers because he's out of their radar.
- Police letting a man who has literately killed thousands of people free every single time.
- Police sending wave after wave of their own men into an obvious death trap instead of having an actual plan or sending in the FBI or national guard.
- Crashing a billion times without causing any sort of damage to the driver.
- Being within a few yards of an explosion and only suffering minor pain instead of the more realistic severe burns and being blown to the other side of the world.
- Cars magically running perfectly well without any type of maintenance or refueling.
- People surviving perfectly well without any sort of water or emptying of bowels.
- Cars popping out of nowhere because somebody dialed a phone number.
I can go on for hours... GTA has never been realistic and it will never be because, well, it's not fun to be too realistic. It's a video game, for Christ's sake lol If you want a life simulator, there's a great franchise made especially for that: The Sims. Go play it.
