I think I have a snake phobia. They look dangerous and can also be very dangerous! I'm a little bit afraid when I'm in some kind of wood or forest and I would never walk in any place where the grass is high for example. Always when I'm the forest I think of snake presence or snake-bits and am very observant for all the threats, unless there are any clear paths were snakes would be visible for my eyes.

Luckily I have never really seen any snakes and in my country there are only three different kind of snakes. Only one is poisonous and that's the viper. But... ! ... Surprisingly I actually saw one snake today when I walked in a forest-like area. It moved slowly across a path and I barely saw it first! Then it disappeared into the grass. At first I just stood there and didn't know what do to.. And just a moment later I saw an another animal that looked exactly like a snake, also in the middle of the path where you can walk! This wasn't actually a snake, but a Anguis fragilis (slowworm). But now I'm even more observant and cautious. confused.gif

Trypophobia. That's pretty much the only one.

I hate you for making me Google what the hell that meant. Which probably means I have it too.

I am quite claustrophobic but I'd say the biggest phobia I have is heights. Being at any sort of altitude where I can look down and see what is below me really does make me sick to my stomach and my legs are suddenly made of jelly. Thank God I'm not very tall.

[edit:] The post above me made me realize another one I have. Open waters. Makes me feel even more sick than heights and I have absolutely no idea why. I couldn't even do the missions involving swimming and diving in San Andreas.

I don't like being enclosed in small spaces, I had to have an MRI scan for which they basically send you into this tiny tunnel and I hated that.

My Grandad had an MRI scan and he isn't even claustrophobic, but he said that it was the worst thing he had ever done.

@sonnyBlack: I have to agree with you there about the "telephone phobia", (don't know that actual name for it.) I hate making phone calls to people, especially people I have never spoke to before; I tend to stutter and sound like a blubbering idiot. I remember about 6 months ago, I had to phone a man up to place an order for a new bowling ball; even though I was excited of the thought of the new bowling ball, it took me about 4 days from receiving his number, and then finally making the call. The call didn't go too bad actually. biggrin.gif

I think I have the opposite of that, I've always been fascinated by stuff like bone marrow and surinam toads. Don't get me wrong, surinam toads are gross as f*ck and I get goosebumps looking at them but at the same time I can't turn away.

I have no idea how it originated, all that kind of stuff just make me feel REALLY nauseated. Seriously, even small bubbles that are bunched together in foam make me feel queasy.

Ranidaphobia (Frogs)

This. F*cking frogs man. They can f*ck rrrrrriiiiiggght off. Doesn't help that the garden at my mam's house has an army of them.

I think I used to be an emetophobe (fear of vomiting) when I was younger too. If I ever felt nauseous I'd get really anxious about being sick and feel even worse. Then I started drinking, and now it's just that thing that'll happen on a Sunday morning every couple of weeks, depending on how my bank balance looked the previous evening.

My phobias are:
Arachnophobia - I can't even look at a picture of a spider in a book or a newspaper without throwing it across the room, and whenever one is shown on the TV I instantly change channels.
Katsaridaphobia - A horrible experience with roaches in Gran Canaria gave me this fear.
Aquaphobia - More specifically swimming pools and the sea. Rivers and shallow water I'm fine with, it's just deep water that I fear.

Mmmm... I'm thinking about adding a spider to my signature just for you!

Anyway, why don't any of you follow therapy, or is it just not serious enough?

I've been thinking about it, wether or not I should get therapy or medication for my anxieties. I'm not really terribly bothered except that I keep a small bedlight on at night and that I never turn my back on any dark rooms or spaces.

Claustraphobia - My biggest phobia, and one I've had all my life. When I was a kid, me and my brother would wrestle a lot, but if he was to ever pin me by being on top, or put something over me such as a bed cover, I'd actually start freaking out and scream. If I'm sat on a sofa/couch, I always have to be sat on the end seat. It's also that bad that I can't ever go to a gig or anything like that, simply because I'd start to panic at being surrounded. As mentioned in the Exit Plans topic, this is the reason I wish to be cremated after I die, because I have a massive fear of waking up and being trapped in a small box.

Aquaphobia - Not so much a fear of water, just a fear of being in water where I can't touch the bottom, or have anything to grab hold of. It's the reason I'll never go swimming...The worst memory I have is of swimming lessons at school, and one of the early lessons was to hold the edge and go around the whole pool, but one guy freaked out and stopped, so we had to go around him to carry on, which meant letting go of the edge...yeah, I proceeded to haul myself up and out of the pool at this point. I also will never dive/jump into a pool for the same reason.

Arachnophobia - f*ck those things.

They're the main ones I can think of.

I have no phobias. Not that I am fearless or anything, but I just don't have anything that makes me panic.

My all time favorite phobia story has to do with a chick I worked with many years ago. She had agoraphobia (couldn't leave the house) and would call in before her shift to say she couldn't make it in. It wasn't like a lame excuse or anything - she had documentation from doctors and all that. Oddly enough, her other job was as a stripper. That always baffled me.

Same here.

Since I've gotten fat it's gotten even worse and especially since I was hiding under my bed while playing hide 'n' seek and my cousins found me and except of tagging me, they decided it was fun to jump on the bed while I was under it.

f*cked me up for life.

Apparently, there's something called "Paraskavedekatriaphobia" which means you're afraid of Friday the 13th. There's someone I know that is the same age as me that won't even leave the house on Friday the 13th, she will just sit at home and not do anything that can be deemed dangerous.
I also found one online called "Kathisophobia" which means you are afraid of sitting down. How is that even possible?

I think I'm suffering a little bit from Vertigo. Not that much, I can climb a high ladder or a building but I will sweat baby. I will sweat!
It doesn't feel that good. It's not the height at all, it's more about the construction of the element that I'm ontop which make me afraid.
