While this game seemed to have received a lot of criticism, I down right loved it. For a handheld game, it's the best to just sit around and play on the go. I didn't think this would become my favorite GTA game, but it did. I played it for hours, the drug dealing and weapons made it a lot easier. Compared to other GTA games I played in the past (Note I haven't touched any of them after San Andreas). The top down view, I loved. It's hard driving, but for the gun fights, it can be a world of difference.


Yet my question lingers, did this game have enough success for another handheld version? Can you imagine an 80's version of this like Vice City with the drug dealing and so on? Yeah, the storyline may have been dumb for CTW but the game play really made up for it. I went all the way through with the drug dealers, and security cameras, and then the annoying Lions thing. It was really fun! I'd love to see another GTA game in this style.

It would be very possible, will not happen... not on the PSP anymore...
next handheld GTA will be on Vita ofcorse... but with it powerfull hardware its most likely will be full 3D game like SA or IV...

Honestly I'd be fine with another top-down game as far as the 3DS goes. It'd look cool in 3D. Though I'd love to be surprised and see Rockstar use the 3DS to its fullest potential by making a pretty good third-person GTA. Rockstar Leeds is probably more focused on the Vita at this point, but who knows.

I'm sure the Vita will get a GTA game...it would be so cool to see a Vice City styled game in CW's top down view with the drug game of course. I see that as a perfect opportunity.

I think it's pretty eminent we will see another GTA handheld game especially on the Vita, I wouldn't mind another top-down GTA game as I still play the previous top-down games frequently but I suspect GTA on the Vita will most likely be a full 3D game. I don't think a top-down game would sell as much as a full 3D one sadly and they would also want to take full advantage of the hardware.

Although I still really like your idea of a top-down Vice City game. A handheld GTA set in Vice City during the late seventies when the drug war was really boiling would be an excellent opportunity to bring back the drug dealing from Chinatown Wars and would provide for an abundance of action as well. Plus the setting would provide an interesting art style for the top-down perspective and there's a lot of great music from that era to work with.

Now I have a PS Vita I can get it again. Honestly I had more fun than LCS and VCS. People say the graphics suck, but the semi top down cartoon/comic look doesn't make it feel like GTA IV on a hand held.
