Hey guys, just bought the game and it's currently downloading - I'll be playing in a few hours! Not sure what to expect in all honesty. I purposely haven't been following the game pre-release so I'm hoping to pleasantly surprised

Downloading it right now. I pre-ordered back in May. I'm getting a three day headstart, I think, as opposed to one day.

Hopefully we'll all be able to play together since the person I was supposed to play with became a dickweed and we no longer talk.

Yeah, I only bought it a few hours ago, so hopefully I can play when it finishes downloading (only 10% left)!

This is some f*cking bullsh*t. I got my actual copy through the post this afternoon, I just put the disc in and it started downloading something. Then all of a sudden GW2 tells me that download failed, and make sure I have an internet connection...I HAVE AN INTERNET CONNECTION DAMN IT. The f*ck is going on?

I'm getting all sorts of errors when I try to login and have only played for about an hour. This is ridiculous, my 3 day headstart will be worthless at this rate.

Went with a Charr Warrior and will be making a Norn, but not sure which profession.

I just did a quick google because of the issue I had, and I've found that if you've already had access to the beta (and already paid for the game before release) then you get a 5 day head start from the 25th (which is today) And people who have just pre ordered the game (only money taken when its actually sent to you) means you only get to start playing on the 27th with a 1 day head start access. Is this sh*t actually true? So basically I can't actually even install GW2 until the 27th?

I was under the impression that as long as you pre-order(ed) it before the 28th you will be able to play. Heck, I bought it a few hours before the servers went live and I've been able to play.

The game is released on the 28th for everyone who didn't pre-order it, but I don't really see the point as anyone who wanted to play the game surely would've bought it by now...

You won't be able to download it while the servers are down, so just hang in there!

I've just done some digging around Amazon since thats where it came from, and it looks like they don't have access to the 1 day head start let alone the 3 day head start. Seems to me like I have a game that I can't even install until the 28th which is kind of bullsh*t. I'd rather of not gotten it early at all then.

Damn, that sucks. Well, if it's any consolation, I've been tapping refresh for a few hours now and the servers are still down.

I'll assume that there will be server issues leading up til the release anyway - there always is.

Give it a re-try when the servers go back up because I don't see what they stand to gain from only allowing people who pre-ordered the digital version of the game the chance to play early.

Thanks for the list of servers. Since I'm EU I'll probably go with Blacktide, but not 100% sure yet. How do you actually know when the servers are back up and running?

Got home from work and ended up watching tv until midnight. Put in the disc again and it actually installed....except now its making me download about 61 thousand damn files...please can someone explain the point of giving me 2 CD's then? haha. I can't make an account/put in my serial code though since there's errors on that web page. Its cool though, I read on the twitter thing that there were a ton of issues. I'll just do it sometime tomorrow or when its fixed. Looks like I'll be having my PC on all night to download the now 60 thousand files. Thank god I have no early access because I wouldn't be able to play now with how long it will take to download!
