ishish's topic is legitimate in that it brought up the fact that Take-Two is once again this year at Gamescom (an expo which Rockstar have favored a lot more since 2006 than E3, with their booths and back-door meetings showcasing upcoming games). His post certainly carries a lot more weight than yours, ThisIsHorosho, which seem to be just out knocking down anything and everything. It'll be there before they go to any game show. In my opinion at this point.

There is a higher chance for a reveal of new information from now on until August on their newswire or other sources (magazine previews) than a presentation at gamescom.
If still nothing then obviously after gamescom.. until October at the latest. Anyway it would be way too late. For one year no information besides the trailer? Nah, not even Rockstar can get away with this.

For once I have to agree with Zee.

R* never showed new info about any unreleased GTA game at GC, and will not. Also about the possibility of holding a private meeting, what does it have to do with new info released?

@other people who are saying newswire will be the first place for next new info: No one said otherwise. The topic starter, nor anyone else, didn't say the next piece of info will come out during this expo.

Nothing will come from this. Take Two was also at E3, and nothing happened. I agree, R* will reveal news on their own, no need for Take Two for that.

I'm gonna go with a no on any GTAV info, especially a massive reveal like a trailer or something, I expect that stuff to come across the newswire. MAYBE, if there is any massive, important info released before Gamescon, then maybe Take Two will mention GTAV and give a brief update. But I don't think that showing off GTAV will be their main focus. GTA sells itself, and Take Two need all its other releases to sell as much as possible to meet forecasts for shareholders. The bottom line is king.

t2 won't give us anything about gta5, that's rockstar's job. Just like the first trailer, signs of the second trailer will appear on the R* website.

E3 - MP3 was JUST released and is the main focus of R* (marketing). E3 visitors: 70k
Gamescom - MP3 is done, everyone who was gonna buy it for full price already bought it; R* marketing can focus on something else. Gamescom visitors: 275k

Is it really that hard to understand?

And please stop with that "hasn't happened before, so can't possibly happen now" bullsh*t.

Or actually, do us all a favor and apply the same logic to crossing the street: "there was no car there to hit me the last 3 times I came here, so there can't possibly be one there now".

Rockstar will only release info on their website, they're "too cool" for conventions.


I also doubt a 2012 release, with the total lack of info, I can't see them squeezing a game like GTA out in a few months. GTA V is a game that has massive expectations so they'll have to put a ton of development time into it.
