Hey everyone. A few days ago we had a problem with our wireless and it disappeared from view. Whether this was something to do with the ISP their end, we don't know. Its recently come back online and we have connected everything back up except for my laptop, which can no longer pick it up in the network connections. It picks others up around us, but not ours. Its kinda of doing my head in now, and I've done all I can think of. I type this from my phone and my ipod and xbox are also set back up to the wireless.

Any ideas?! Confused... confused.gif

Best bet would just to ring your provider and ask them what the deal is. Other than that, have you tried disabling the WLAN Auto Config in the services on the laptop turning off the router and taking out everything from it give it 5 minutes and put everything back and turn on the wireless to the laptop. It usually helps my laptop when I can't pick up my connection sometimes.

You've said you've tried everything, but as I don't know what you've tried I'll fire off a couple of suggestions you may or may not have done.

Possibly your network adapter isn't on.
1. Open Device Manager - right click My Computer -> Properties -> (Windows 7 left hand menu) Device Manager (or Start -> Run devmgmt.msc) -> Network Adapters -> <name of adapter> -> right-click -> disable ->right click again -> enable (or if already disabled, just enable it)

It might have turned itself off as if it hasn't detected a wireless signal (which I gather it hasn't for a little while) it might go into a power saving mode and turn off, and Windows being Windows hasn't turned it back on or let you know it's turned off. If this is the case to stop it happening in the future back in Device Manager when you right click, click on Properties and and the Power Saving tab and turn power saving off.

But this might not be the case as it can pick up other networks, so you might need to check the manual for your wireless router to see how to manually set your network up as the settings could have changed during the "reset" and therefore you laptop can't find it now.

After trying that and many other things, it was obviously out of my hands. So after being on the phone to them for half hour and having them take control of my laptop, it seems to be fixed. Quite a few settings had changed from what I could see. Very strange.

But thanks! Will request a lock.
