Only Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto IV The Lost and Damned and Grand Theft Auto The Ballad of Gay Tony have official ingame multiplayers made by Rockstar. Multiplayer is separated for each game, you cant play for example Grand Theft Auto IV multiplayer with someone who plays Grand Theft Auto IV The Lost and Damned multiplayer.
So most players online are in Grand Theft Auto IV, there are also many players in Grand Theft Auto The Ballad of Gay Tony but mostly at Free Modes, Deathmatches and Races doesnt have many players. Grand Theft Auto IV The Lost and Damned is pretty dead online, you can usualy find there just 1-5 players at Free Mode.
Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Vice City and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas have unoficial created by fans multiplayers which you can download from websites with mods, I dont think you will find many players there but San Andreas - Multiplayer is/was pretty popular, Im not sure becouse I never played it.
Grand Theft Auto IV The Lost and Damned and Grand Theft Auto The Ballad of Gay Tony are separated games, not cheap expansions, worth its money. They are both in Liberty City - same map as for Grand Theft Auto IV but with new locations, cars, guns, mini - games and other features. There are also new characters and new storylines (not as long as in Grand Theft Auto IV).

Here ya go: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/4466/Get this and play all the GTA's in order starting with GTA III. Trust me, GTA's multiplayer is nowhere near as good as the singleplayer. And III, Vice City, and San Andreas >>> IV imo. If you buy the game(s) from Steam, you get it instantly and it starts downloading. With Amazon, you get a CD-key for Steam, so there's really no difference other than you won't be getting every GTA on Steam, which is worth it! Steam is a great service, has great sales, and a great community. But before you buy them, list your PC specs. I'll let you know how well you can run every GTA game in the package. thx but i dont need short and not clear answers like this sry. Sardina had a good answer, he saw i want multyplayer, even if single is better i dont play single like 20 years ago, when i have internet... thx anyway for link, didnt knew u can buy all in one shot (but at this price i prefer to buy gta 4 complete instead)
i heard old versions got multiplayer too, made by fans, but are more online in gta 4.
Im wonder why single can be much better than multi, where u can interact fun with others (how u interact exactly?) Please answer to each of my question guys (see last reply......), im bored to repeat again and again my posts last 3 days for some darn info, thanks for help

Well, I highly advise playing the singleplayer. The music, storyline, comedy, character development, you can have me ramble on and on for hours about how amazing the games are. In multiplayer, you just run around and blow up stuff with AK-47s (Which is strangely fun) As for speaking with people, if you have the Steam version, you can add a friend of yours on Steam and press Shift+Tab in a game to chat with him while playing. If you just want to play multiplayer though, just get GTA IV. The multiplayer for The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony are just the same things as GTA IV.

Alright. The multiplayer for The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned have really no differences to that of GTA IV, other than there's a different HUD and UI. Also, there's different songs. I really have no idea, lol. GTA IV isn't XP compatible, I believe. (May be wrong though) If you buy from Amazon, you'll instantly get a key or download link. As I said earlier, can you list the name of your graphics card? Go to start, press R and type in "dxdiag" without the quotes into the thing that pops up. Go to the Display tab and it should tell you there. I can make sure that your PC can handle GTA IV. EDIT: GTA IV IS NOT XP COMPATIBLE. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY GTA IV ON YOUR COMPUTER.

Actually the multiplayer it's really fun for iv and the episodes. You have races, races with weapons, free mode, deatmatch, team deathmatch, a super fun mode called cops and crooks were the cops gotta take down the robber or their boss, Team mafia work, turf war, and many more online modes... of course it wont be too populated but you should have enough people to have fun... it's not only running and shooting ak47's

Heh, I was just joking about the running around with AK-47s and shooting stuff. Indeed it is fun, but the singleplayer makes up 90% of the game. I won't egg him on it however, to each what they want to play.

Yeah, the storyline was what was interesting. The gameplay was always about killing people in closed areas and having to take cover and blindlessly fire at people's hands as they fire at you or chasing down people in cars. Even so, I loved the singleplayer even though it was copypaste for the gameplay. I loved the multiplayer, I was just saying that he should also play singleplayer. To prove that I love the multiplayer, take a look at my extended huge collection of 1 screenshot of the multiplayer I made myself. http://steamcommunity.com/id/iwarnedyouabo...ilter=app_12210 This post has been edited by ForDaNords on Saturday, Jun 9 2012, 02:26

I play GTA IV on XP and everything works well, ForDaNords dont know anything about the game, dont listen to him. You can run GTA IV on XP, Vista and 7. | QUOTE | | how stupid to make a so awesome game most single player in internet era? |
Well if you want to buy most multiplayer game you should buy something like CoD or I dont know. Grand Theft Auto is singleplayer based game and multiplayer is just new addition in IV, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Grand Theft Auto is game for people who likes singleplayer more than multiplayer. Thats why most fun is in singleplayer and multiplayer is not so good and not so popular. | QUOTE | | If you just want to play multiplayer though, just get GTA IV. The multiplayer for The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony are just the same things as GTA IV. |
Hes also wrong. Here is list of multiplayer game modes in IV, TLaD and TBoGT Grand Theft Auto IV Deathmatch Mafiya Work Car Jack City Race GTA Race Team Deathmatch Team Mafiya Work Team Car Jack City Cops 'n Crooks Turf War Hangmans NOOSE Bomb da Base II Deal Breaker Free Mode Party Mode Grand Theft Auto IV The Lost and Damned Deathmatch Team Deathmatch Races Club Business Lone Wolf Biker Chopper vs Chopper Witness Protection Own The City Free Mode Party Mode Grand Theft Auto The Ballad of Gay Tony Deathmatch Team Deathmatch Races GTA Races Free Mode Party Mode So its not the same, every multiplayer is different, if you buy just IV without EFLC you wont be able to play Lone Wolf Biker for example. Well it says it's only for Vista and beyond. I also want to make sure he can play the game-- he probably has a XP laptop, which obviously can't run GTA IV. I've only played 2 matches in The Ballad of Gay Tony and IV, and they were both deathmatch so I assumed they were the same but different UI, HUD, and songs. And yeah, I also agree about getting CoD or some other multiplayer game. My favorite multiplayer game of all time is Team Fortress 2 which is also free to play, so xromania, if you want a multiplayer game, go with Team Fortress 2. GTA is primarily for singleplayer.

Well, if you want a racing game, don't go for GTA. Driving cars is one of the main features, but racing was not in mind when developing it, you're supposed to just drive to places. Heck most of the time you'll be out of the car. I don't know if there's a racing mode online, but even so, you wouldn't be playing it that much. There's only like, 1 racing mission in singleplayer. My favorite racing games that are multiplayer are DiRT 3 and FlatOut 2. I answered your questions before, but I'll do it again. Amazon is safe, but check how trusted the seller is. You'll either get a CD key or a download link immediately. Amazon sellers sell games cheaper than the official price so people will buy it. Steam is derpy like that with euros, it was made in mind with american currency.

| QUOTE (ForDaNords @ Saturday, Jun 9 2012, 23:16) | | I don't know if there's a racing mode online, but even so, you wouldn't be playing it that much | There are 56 different race tracks in GTA IV in 2 game modes - Race and GTA Race, in 5 race types - street races, boat races, helicopter races, free races and canonbal run races. In TLaD there are 30 race tracks, I didnt count TBoGT race tracks. xromania I cant answer your questions about internet stores becouse I never bought anything there, I always go to real store and there buy my games, I like to have it on DVD in box, not just downloaded from net becouse when I reinstal my system I would have to download everything again and I dont know how many times I can download a game from internet stores like steam or something
