I love taking walks around, maybe getting a cab to check out a place or maybe the subway, if there is something i wish i could do is to erase almost everything about GTA IV and RDR in my head so i could play them again and get that awesome feeling of freedom again.

Hahah don't we all wish that. But hey, that's why we have GTAV.

I love how people ignore the detail and just complain about how its a little bit smaller that SA's map, which had a lot of dead space. There isn't a single piece of LC which feels underdeveloped or copied, its all different. Yeah, maybe its technical limitations but really that just gets me excited for V's map, combining SA's wilderness and LC's details. Hell, RDR proved that you can do interesting wilderness so there's nothing that can go wrong.

GTAIV feels bigger in scope to me because of the fact that there is no wasted space. If you took out all the dead, recycled areas in SA (there was a lot), I'm certain it would be smaller than LC.

It felt much more ambitious overall to SA, but I guess SA was doing something big for its time. GTAV will be the definition of a big map for some time, I'm sure.

I rarely do walk the street but I do sometimes and it's really nice. When I want to go around big parks, I use a Faggio and drive slowly. Also, I also pick my favorite car at the moment and drive around like a normal person taking in the great sights. The architecture is pretty nice, but when you think about it, EVERY borough looks different, as a different character, different buildings that there is only one of. I especially like Berchem.

The one thing that bugs me if the fact that sometimes the streets lack many cars and/or pedestrians and I see tat in GTA V it's fixed, and I'm sure I will enjoy that game even more since it's less urban feeling, but I'm still enjoying GTA 4 until then.

I agree with you. I'm sure GTA V's Los Santos will be a little bit larger than Liberty City and even have a more lively feeling. I just hope since it's more suburban that they don't reuse many buildings and that the neighborhoods are different. I did enjoy SA's wilderness, but the next games wilderness looks like it'll be larger, but still pretty diverse detailed like the cities.

on a technical point of view GTA IV is one of the games where the developpers work impressed me the most . on that you had the modding potential , and you get an endless gaming experience . cause if the map on a size point of view is not very very big , you can mod and add new maps wink.gif

I agree with this. To me it felt like R* let nothing go to waste. In SA most of the map just serves as a bridge between each city. Most of it isn't even used in the story.

Atleast with GTA IV R* tried to utilize every inch as much as possible.

I really do love GT 4's city, but I'm not gonna' hate on San Andreas, I mean come on, it was fun to do road trips, long drives and explore the empty areas. It's one of the many things I look forward to in GTA V. I personally love both exploring the city, but the country is also interesting when you get bored of it.

There's no reason to hate on SA. Sure I had fun going on road trips and whatnot, but it still had flaws. Wasted space being one.

GTA IV was really a leap in the right direction that doesn't get the full credit it deserves.

I personally don't care if there is wasted space. I loved GTA 4's use of space, but really, I'm sure GTA is partially about exploring, so not all of the spaces needs to be filled, I hope GTA V just has a nice empty countryside with beautiful flora and long roads with some buildings and easter eggs.

great maps are cool if they're filled correctly . i prefer realism (details) myself . i remember SA was desesperatly empty . i mean what's the point of driving during kilometers when there's nothing to see on arrival . exploring means seing things smile.gif . GTA IV map is pretty small if you compare with other games like Just cause 2 for example . But GTA has outstanding features likes the procobj or the roadside libraries . which make the map to be continously renewed . an unprecedented gaming experience personnally user posted image user posted image
