| QUOTE (CajunSnipes @ Monday, Jun 11 2012, 15:36) | | QUOTE (jimbo1a @ Sunday, Jun 10 2012, 17:09) | | i just love being in star junction and meadows park when it is really sunny, i love seeing the water movements and reflections, i try to play the game more in the daytime than at night as i prefer it that way, |
Really? I prefer to walk around at midnight, as it feels as if it has more atmosphere. I like stealing one of the helitours helicopters and flying over the city at 3 a.m. Seeing the buildings lit up is just awesome, and don't even get me started on Star Junction... |
I prefer daytime because of the sunlight casting dynamic shadows. There aren't any (for the most part) dynamic shadows at night. That said, sunset with a few clouds is one of my favourite times. Except Star Junction definitely looks better at night. Driving at night does give a good atmosphere though. I wish Roman's taxi job (and black taxi) was available throughout the game. There's nothing like driving across the Algonquin bridge and making small conversation with your passenger while JNR plays in the background.

| QUOTE (Isuck100% @ Sunday, Jun 17 2012, 02:55) | | I wish more people would appreciate the small details like this. It makes me sick when people complain about GTA IV and all the stuff "taken out" from San Andreas. All these people can do is complain. Clearly, none of them can even begin to appreciate the incredible amount of work Rockstar put into bringing Liberty City alive. There are few games I can play for hundreds of hours and still see new, little details I had never noticed before. GTA IV's Liberty City is truly breathtaking. I cannot think of a single other open world city that can even come close to matching Rockstar's level of meticulous detail. |
Agreed. It's funny you should say that. I feel with GTA IV most of the fun comes from doing things like this instead of being distracted by a heap of materialistic features. I know it's hard to compare given technology differences, but explore any GTA III era city and then GTA IV's LC. It's clear R* went beyond what most developers would do and they put a lot of work in most games these days even tend to over look. It really is a fantastic achievement which isn't appreciated enough IMO. This post has been edited by Miamivicecity on Saturday, Jun 23 2012, 14:06
