Hey, all of the cars in my game are all black. Yeah, I never entered in the cheat for it ever and have replaced the carcols.dat file already. Anyone know a fix for it?

Reinstall the game and delete the gta_sa.set file from the User Files folder. That should fix it.

Which operating system are you on?

Also, did you check if there are any leftover files after you uninstalled the game? Perhaps, some of the files from the mods are still there. You might have to delete them manually.

I found out that the problem was whenever I try to install a car mod with SAMI, it glitches up my game and causes that problem. So, I have to uninstall the game and reinstall it. Is there a way to fix this. Oh, and I'm on Windows 7.

Agreed.

This helped me learn a lot about modding back when I was new to San Andreas. I would never touch a mod installer again.

What is the manual way of installing mods?

Notepad, copy+paste. And, IMG Manager v1.5 for importing mods to gta3.img or any other .img-file.

Sorry, but I don't know any tutorials for manual installing, and it would be pain in the ass to search with my internet.

But it doesn't require more than common sense and basic knowledge of using your computer. If in ReadMe of a vehicle, there is some lines, for example like this (from Firestone's BMW 1M v2 ReadMe.)

CODE

Settings of car:

handling:

CADRONA      1200.0  3000.0  2.0  0.0  0.0  -0.2  70  0.80  0.9  0.50  5  230.0  30.0  10.0  R  P  8.1  0.48  1  35.0  1.3  0.07  2.0  0.23  -0.03  0.5  0.6  0.40  0.54  105000  C0002000  4700000  0  0  1

vehicles:

527,  cadrona,  cadrona,  car,   CADRONA,  CADRONA,  null, richfamily, 7,  0, 0, -1, 0.73, 0.73,  1

The line after "handling" goes inside handling.cfg, on the line where is already CADRONA. You replace it. Same with vehicles.ide, and any other file. A bit of practising and it'll be a piece of cake! smile.gif
