Ok sa I tried to change the visuals of the game, i put in half for draw distance, i turned on frame limiter, 3 for anti aliasing, and my visual fx quality is high, and my resolution is 1024x768x32

I have an Acer Aspire X 1920 desktop with 2gb of ram and a AMD Radeon HD 6450 videocard with 1024 mb, but even with those specs the game lags, is there a problem??

oh and I also turn off other running programs while playing

Remember this is an old game, we have to accept it for the way it is. When was the last time you did a disc clean up and defrag?

The last time I did a defrag was last month prior to my rei-nstallation of dead island, i was really bummed out when I tried to push the graphics a notch higher and ended up slowing down the game T.T

Have you got the retail DVD version?
Do you play it with the DVD on the drive?
And what version do you have?
Do you have mods installed?

If you have Windows 7, remember to be sure to have the administrative privileges before playing.
Try also to delete the gta_sa.set located in your documents\GTA San Andreas User Files, it will remove all the graphics/commands configurations you've made. You can re-make them after deleting this file.

Turn off Anti-aliasing and Frame Limiter. If that doesn't work, then turn down your Draw Distance to the lowest then set Visual FX quality to Low/Med.

Anti-aliasing on a computer like that will kill the FPS, hell even on mine it does. Also put the FX quality in Medium, High and Very High render a great amount of grass and shadows. In conjunction with Anti-aliasing, the game will lag.

As you can see from this video, there is NO Very High FX quality setting-it only goes: Low, Medium, High, and back to OFF...and the maximum AA goes to is 3, as it goes: 1,2,3 and back to off... I have confirmed that on 5 PC's(an XP Home and XP Pro, Vista, and 2 Windows 7's) and it is the same result-this video was from my Vista desktop, which is not capable of running AA, which is why it is OFF in the video...Here's proof of the AA thing even though the resolution was not set right, as I normally run the game at 1600X900X32 resolution on that PC...This is on a V2 game with no mods/trainers. Only a Chain Game save was used. curious about the Visual FX setting, since I confirmed that the Highest setting is "High" and not Very High on 5 PC's? confused.gif Not doubtung you, just curious?

Turn off your frame limiter.

Don't forget these things R* said in the official Readme.txt of the game (V.2):
QUOTE
Normally, the frame rate of GRAND THEFT AUTO: San Andreas is set to 30 frames per second. However, this option allows the game to go faster than 30 frames per second. Be aware that this option can not run GRAND THEFT AUTO: San Andreas faster, but make your experience "different". We advise you not unlock the refresh rate. If you have a fast computer, it is better to increase the resolution, the level of detail, antialiasing, etc., Rather than trying to reach a higher refresh rate limiter by releasing the IPS. The gaming experience will be even better.

If you have a good enough machine, you can safely ignore the what the readme says. Also, the frame rate is actually locked at 25, not 30. It is advisable to turn ON the frame limiter only if you're having issues when it's OFF.

To add to this: With the Frame Limiter setting, IF you have a lower-end PC, it is best to turn it OFF, however, IF you have a mid to High end PC, it is best to leave it ON..I learned that one from experience... smile.gif
