Very true! At least we shouldn't get any duplicate threads from him. | 1: I strongly take offense to being called a Nazi. 2: I did it very tactfully, without the use of caps or vulgarity. And in such a way that only someone truly interested in more information or looking to be a name calling know-it-all would notice. 3: I consider it to be more like promoting an old thread on a new-to-me thread. As I see it, this thread has given me an opportunity to bring up my thread without having to post on my own thread. I feel that doing so would have made myself look sad and desperate for attention. This way I could just look garden variety needy. 4: I may get the chance to visit this site once a week and not for very long so 2-4 week old threads are new to me and to many others, who like myself, have spouses, children, responsibilities to an employer, bills that don't pay themselves and a duty to pay taxes to my government. 5: The search function is not just side bar filler. 6: Learning bullet point #5 would definitely reduce the number of crappy, sloppy, error filled threads that permeate this website. And for anyone else reading. 7: The red squiggly line under your text is not a celebration of your genius. Right click those words for suggestions on how to improve the way the rest of us will perceive you.

7: The red squiggly line under your text is not a celebration of your genius. Right click those words for suggestions on how to improve the way the rest of us will perceive you. | The term forum Nazi is a commonly used phrase meaning someone, such as yourself, who doesn't add anything to a thread but only points the way to a different thread which they believe is more appropriate. It has nothing to do with actual National Socialists. Most of your reasons (bar the third) were just pointless frankly, and did nothing to really explain why you resurrected a thread that had lain dormant for 12 days just to point the way to an alternative. As for the third point, why didn't you read through your thread and find something to reply to? That would have brought up your thread without making you seem like an arrogant fool, while also giving people something new to actually discuss. I honestly can't tell if you're being serious though, point number 3 would hint that you're not but the rest of your post seems to say otherwise.

I honestly can't tell if you're being serious though, point number 3 would hint that you're not but the rest of your post seems to say otherwise. | Not all of the list was aimed at your post. Namely points one, two and three. Point one is self explanatory. If you don't know why it's bad to call someone a Nazi, regardless of context or place, that's on you. Point two of course doesn't gel with you because much like your free use of a hate-filled regime (kept alive by a seriously twisted form of trash [the trash is someone else who is not you or on this site just so we are clear]) to describe me, you were directly addressed negatively. Skipping three, point four addressed why this thread was not "old" to me. Point five was used to agree with Nah Tso Gud. Point six was added to further highlight my opinions on why point five was so important for me to respond. And point seven was thrown in, as the statement above it suggests, because I felt like there's never a bad time to learn something new. And mostly I've had a slow work day and this has allowed me to get that much closer to the end of the day without snapping from the sound of my unusually loud desk clock. Any further responses will have to be read another day. So no, I'm not entirely serious. No need or desire to be. On topic. I'm really hoping for snow. If there is snow, then maybe an abominable snowman. We've already seen bigfoot. Okay so no snowman. But definitely some opportunities to drive through the snow. Or on an icy mountain pass. Then when people complain that the handling is like driving on a skating rink, then it will truly be as they have described. Seriously, I really do want snow. I think that country environments translate very well to the gaming world because there isn't the need for perfect lines and planes. And snow is just beautiful. Especially when going through the environment with it precipitating.

| QUOTE (Alaannnn @ Saturday, May 26 2012, 06:07) | So I was just thinking, like any other day, about how epic the map is gonna be for GTA V, specifically the country and wilderness, if there is any. I'm really hoping they go really in depth with the country and add various locations that we could explore; caves, cliff sides, forest trails, and maybe even underwater caves.
In the surrounding areas of these locations could be shops (some of these shops could also be found in Los Santos, each selling specific items that you could use within these areas.
Example: *on the bottoms of cliffs and the mountains along the trails which lead up to the top, we could find a Hiking shop which would sell basic Hiking equipment which will give the player a little extra endurance when running uphill, or a variation of the armour you would get, except it's not armour but a "survival health pack". They could also sell basic hunting equipment if hunting is a part of the game. * In various locations in and around the city could be general supply warehouses which would sell basic survival equipment, hunting and fishing accessories, and many other stuff. The hunting and fishing equipment could also be used as weapons against NPC's
Within these areas there could be mini games that could also be played with people on-line as well as your crew and friends in single player. Mini-games such as BMX races down the mountain, dirt bike tracks in the desert, Baja races, target practice. cave exploration, and many more.
there's an endless amount of things Rockstar could do with the Wilderness and Countryside. Let's just hope they don't disappoint us
I created this topic so we could just discuss what we could expect and what we would like to see in the Outskirts of Los Santos | I'm not really into the minigames, but other than that i agree 100%

The countryside is always a great option. Urban environments have been done time and time again, especially in GTA, but the countryside has an allure and dangers of its own. Wandering the dark forest, hearing the calls of wild animals (and maybe even having a nasty encounter with them), seeing the sun rise over the city from the summit of a mountain......all perfect. Red Dead Redemption showed how well the RAGE engine can make country environments, considering that essentially the entire game was deserts, plains, and forests. And from what I've seen in the trailer, it's going to look brilliant.
The way I see it, the best game world is one where you can aimlessly wander far from any of the main mission givers and still feel like you're enjoying yourself. Look at Skyrim. A miles-long trek is never boring, and you'll always find something to do even if you elect to walk from one side of the map to the other (which I did).

Both L.A. Noire & RDR are the blueprints for GTAV.
Certain aspects from both games to carry on into GTAV, however tweaked.
Hunting for example, requires a hunting license, which the player must perform certain shooting tasks to obtain.
In GTAV, we will be able to hunt Deer, Elk, Pronghorn, Bear, Wild Pig, Bighorn Sheep, smaller game like Pheasant, Quail, Chukar, Grouse, Ptarmigan, Wild Turkey, Dove, Squirrel, Rabbit, Hare and even waterfowl which include Goose, Duck, Coot, Moor hen & Black Brant.
Hunting trophies will be displayed in the players safehouse, which he/she can customize with entertainment equipment and nick-nacks, then invite other players online to come and hang out. Very similar to PS Home. Players can also hold poker tournaments and are other activities at their 'pad'.

Most of you don't know how rockstar works i see...
i don't deny the game will be big, but it wouldnt be THAT different from what we previously had from them
i'll try to explain.
They are not going to re-invent the approach of wilderness and desert, and animal life not under captivity in a video game
They "invented" (well their own approach i mean) a couple of years ago in RDR
It means, that they'll basically recreate the same system, landscapes, life, textures, interactions with animals (except scalping and selling skin) than RDR
Of course they'll modernize the interpretation cuz it's the 21th century in the game
But in a nutshell
GTA V WILL BE the most advanced computer generated city which is based on a real one some like GTA IV with new york i'd dare say, with more details. With RDR wilderness all around.(maybe with extra cool stuff that comes along with it)
this is how rockstar works.
The real innovation of GTA V, would be the way you manage your money, and how you can interact with it. that would be the bold new direction.
