I remember trip making a very similar topic a few months ago, nonetheless, I guess I really like peeing after drinking lots of water, finding $20 dollar bills in my pant's pockets, hot showers after an exhausting day, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

And then there's bacon.

QUOTE (trip @ Saturday, May 26 2012, 06:38)
-The smell of spring and the outdoors.
-A happy dog walking with it's owner
-An old couple still holding hands with love.
-The list goes on and on.

If it wasn't for 'The Little Things' I would have given up on life years ago.

IMO, appreciation for the little things is more important than the big things. The little things are usually the things that make us smile regularly.

Yeah i agree the little things are important.
It was so nice last week i saw an old asian family slowly walking around the lake near mine exchanging words and smiling and just looking generally content with life.

One of the things i love is just going to the river, the flow of water of rocks, small birds gather and play, and eventually the sun set over the hill, it is nice.

One of the biggest "little things in life" for me was when I finally beat OG LOCs dancing mission in SA. Ever since I've taken notice every time I feel that feeling of accomplishment.
Oh, and silent kisses with closed eyes. And a cat seeking you without wanting food.

I love to live the life with enjoyment.

Sometimes money isn't needed to enjoy it, at least partially.

Isn't this a bit of a given, though. Saying "I love enjoying myself" is somewhat akin to saying "I hate being stabbed in the liver with a screwdriver". Even someone with self-defeating personality disorder loves living life with enjoyment- their idea of enjoyment is just ruining their own life.

Actually, I was reffering to something like "work to live, and do not live to work".

Even though I am quite metrossexual IRL, I don't love to enjoy myself. I find it quite arrogant of your part to compare what I've said with both phrases in such way. Many people don't live their life with enjoyment, thats pretty clear nowadays. IMO, work does not give you joy, but offers money to make you able to do so.

Thats what I was trying to mean.

My way to obtain joy is probably not the same as yours. We all like different things, so my phrase wasn't reffering to enjoyement in general, but what I do like. Something that I wouldn't share with someone like you and many around here.

Music.
Meaningful sex. Don't partake in empty booty.
Alcohol.
Cigarettes.
Coffee.
Billiards.
Good conversation and good company.
Nature.
Walks in the night.
Fires in the pit.
Watching the wind slowly blow the branches on trees when it is calm and quiet.
Looking at the stars.

And sometimes all of those things combine at once, or close to it. And I love when that happens.

I could add more, but that is a decent start.

Just listening to my favourite music, It's great hearing a good song you haven't listened to in a while that you like because you get that instant feel of nostalgia.

I also love going for walks on this path near my house that follows the river for miles. Such a peaceful experience and you get some nice scenery to take in. It always clears my head when i'm stressed out.

Family and Close Friends also mean alot to me.

QUOTE (AlexGTAGamer @ Friday, May 25 2012, 23:46)
- Admiring a torrential downpour from the window.

My list was rushed, so I knew I had missed plenty of things out, but this would be high on my list. When I was younger, I used to sit in my Grandma's conservatory during a storm, and just sit there and listen to the rain beating down upon the roof. One of my ex-GF's house was perfect for this too, as her bedroom was in the loft/attic, so whenever there was a storm, we'd just lay in bed and listen to it.

After reading this topic, there are a few more things I'd add to my list:

- Great conversation. In a world of FB and sh*t, it seems that conversation is dead these days, so it's good when you can sit back with a mate and just talk about interests, rather than the pointless usual 'guy' talk.

- Laying with a girl. Call me a soft git or whatever, but just laying there in bed, naked, holding each other and spending the day with each other is something I miss.

- Smell of freshly cut grass. Just makes me think of spring/summer.

- Nature. Saw Jake mention this, but it's something I love, and the place I live is perfect for this, as we are completely surrounded by natural countryside. As a kid, I used to go on walks all the time around the moors and whatnot, and still love it to this day.

I have to say this is a good addition to my simple joy of life as well. I am also a softy when it comes to this. Naked or not, when you are with a special woman, laying in bed or watching a movie together or just talking together, it is amazing. Although not always so simple, sometimes it is. I consider myself very lucky when this happens. Good call, Butters.

I am also lucky enough to be around nature quite a bit. My front yard is a river. And there's a nice walking trail right next to me that goes along to a park. And there are woods all around me. I think some people lose perspective of these simple but amazing things we are around. People take vacations to come visit where I live, so I will hold it dear to me.

Another thing I am thankful for is Spring and Summer. Such a nice time of year. Smelling the flowers blooming is nice. And Spring and Summer rains are also amazing. I love thunderstorms as well.

Being in a parked car when it is absolutely bouncing it down with rain outside and enjoying the warmth and safety of the car.

Sleeping in freshly washed sheets, duvet and pillows.

Post-coital munchies.

Waking up next to my girlfriend, had the pleasure of that 4 times this week.

When I got back with one of my ex's, she was a few months pregnant, so we literally moved her living room in to the bedroom to make stuff easier for her, and this equaled spending whole days just laying in bed and talking, watching TV and doing general geeky stuff, such as writing or reading. Could easily say these were some of the best moments I've ever spent with a lass. Could possibly be why I fail at relationships now though, since this is what I tend to seek in a relationship, but it's rare to find a lass like this.

And yeah, I think some people just don't appreciate the beauty that surrounds them at times. I was having this conversation with an ex of mine, saying what we'd like to do if we ever went on holiday together. Her suggestion, obviously, was to hit all the beaches and stay at the pool, whereas I was more looking for going and visiting National Parks.

Think this is one reason I like the way my life has turned out, simply for the fact it has taught me to truly appreciate the little things in life.

Definitely nice to just lay with your woman. I really love laying with my current girlfriend and I'm really soaking it in for what it's worth because you never know when it may end. I'm hoping never, but you just don't know. It's these kind of women that are special. The ones who aren't all about doing something constantly. The ones more content in simple moments. They seem few and far between sometimes.

Another thing that is a simple joy for me lately is naps. I've never been a nap person. But the last week it has really helped me out getting through the day with mixed times with my girlfriend.

And showers. I forgot to add that before. It's always so nice feeling all sweaty and nasty and then taking a nice hot shower and feeling renewed.

Another thing is electricity. We take it for granted. I love it. And fans. I really love air blowing on me when I'm sleeping or relaxing around the house.
