-You know that feeling you get when you realise it's 7AM and you're still absolutely shattered, and the only thing you wanna do is go to sleep but you have to get up for work/school/uni. Well having that feeling, but then realising it's the weekend or your day off, and you can just go back to sleep in your nice warm cozy bed. I really love that feeling.

-I also love when my dad cooks my favourite meal, which he doesn't do very often, but it's even better when I'm really really hungry and I take the frst bite. God, it's orgasmic. I'm talking about when you have no energy left and you're almost shaking a bit because you're so hungry.

-When you can finally rest after going through a really long hard day. I remember one day I was up at 5AM to go "beating", which is basically scaring birds into the path of shooters. It was freezing cold, raining hard all day and I honestly don't think I was far off hypothermia. I went with my friend. and we got picked up in this old land rover and had to squeeze in the back with these 2 other guys and their hunting dogs, which absolutely stank and it was a good 45 minute journey. We had to walk over fells and thick goarse for the full day, we must have marched at least 15 miles. The weather was horrendous, and we had an hours break to eat our soggy sandwhiches.

When we finally finished after 12 hours of pretty much constant walking and got dropped off, we still had a 3/4 mile treck to get back to my friends house. Every step was agony, and I was shivering so much. When we finally stepped through his door it was such a relief I can't even describe it. I just collapsed on my fold out bed in the clothes I was wearing and slept like I'd never slept before.

• That feeling when you're going about a hectic day and someone is listening to a song you adore. Bonus points for when it's something you don't hear often like John Denver.

• A windy night out in the dark of the prairie. A few trees rustling in the distance and the grey waves before you.

• The smell of blueberry pancakes, hashbrowns, eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, eggs and a glass of orange juice in front of you.

• A walk down an empty street in the night.

• The opportunity to dance in a ballroom.

Having friends that make me laugh all the time is great. When I'm alone with my thoughts I begin to get cynical and depressed, but nothing cures that right up other than being around people again. smile.gif *contented smile

Also, sleeping is wonderful. It's what I look forward to most on weekends.

Getting off work last night, exhausted but with the blistering heat negated by a very pleasant warm breeze; my first set of exams out of the way, I'm starting to really enjoy the weather and of course the money I'm earning. That kind of fatigue you go home with from a hard day helps you sleep the deepest sleeps you'll ever have.

Generally, the smell of freshly cut grass and the taste of bacon.

Hot day, convertible car, roof down, sunglasses on and something suitably rude on the stereo.

First pint of the weekend.

The sense of satisfaction you get from doing a really good job of something- no matter how trivial. Right now, I'm pleased as punch that my car is spotless inside and out.

QUOTE (Craig @ Saturday, May 26 2012, 00:11)
I have always loved throwing something into a bin from far away and have it effortlessly glide in. So satisfying. That, and how good a cold beer tastes after a gruelling 12 hour night shift.

I get a massive amount of satisfaction from throwing my tea bags into our recycling thing. It's an awkward shot but I've only missed twice. And as for the beer after work, damn right. When I used to work as a chef I looked forward to getting home, seeing my missus, the dogs, and just chilling out with a nice beer.

One of my favourite things, especially at this time, is the smell of freshly cut grass. I swear I could easily become addicted to that smell.

Another one for me is making a really good roll-up cigarette. No wrinkles in the paper, the roach is perfectly placed and it smokes like silk. I almost feel a sense of pride whenever I do it.

Also, as someone else said, completing a task really well no matter how menial it is. Today I finally finished the sign I was making for the bathroom door (me and my house-mate have had a couple of run-ins) and it looks great, if I may say so myself. It looks pretty darn elegant cool.gif

Those saying they appreciate a good torrential downpour may appreciate Rainymood.com. It works great as white noise for falling asleep to.

Plus I've been mildly hungover today and maintained a minimal level of productivity. It's been glorious.

Having just gotten out after 6 months of incarceration, I truly have a new-found respect for the little things.

Such As:

Sleeping on a real mattress, in your own room.

Being able to eat meals whenever you choose.

Being able to sleep when you choose.

Drinking Beer.

Eating food that actually tastes good.

being able to take a shower with an actual shower head and real faucet. And being able to walk into the shower without worrying about how many dude's semen is coating the floor..

Being able to watch any TV channel I want. No longer limited to only Basketball and BET...

Not having to worry about getting locked down over a myriad of stupid reasons (fighting over the TV, food, whose to loud, etc.)

Its great to be out in the land of the free*.

Talking to this girl over the phone for hours. I met her like a month ago and she's the only person ever in my life for me to have a 2-hour long conversation over the phone. It's so surreal, we're just talking and talking and making each other happy. I always look forward to our calls to each other.

So many songs are appropriate for your post that I couldn't think of any single one to post. So I'll just say, enjoy it, sounds like you're in looooooooove.

Well, I would choose this song. Not that I really like the song or anything, but because I sang this with her over the phone too. Sometimes songs are just great because of the memories behind it.

But enough of my love life, read more here I guess.

Also another little thing I like, balancing a Balance Sheet. All you accountants out there know what I'm talking about tounge.gif I always feel like giggling out loud like a little girl when I get the same end number on both sides of the Balance Sheet.

I did this a few days ago and had an awesome time. Seeing everyone enjoying themselves, telling stories of their younger days about funny mishaps made it all worth wild. Athough, no one hardly eat because we were all stumbling at the end. Next time eat first drink later. Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif
