I don't know if this has been covered before, but you can avoid those eternal loading times by adding the commandline "-refreshrate 57"; contrary to what the readme file says, it's not necessary to use -framelimit 1, but you DO need v sync activated either way.

Anyway, the framerate still goes up to 60, for some reason so that's a plus. I guess this is the reason we don't have slow loading times on newer patches, because the framerate is locked to 55.

Give it a try! icon14.gif

-edit- Actually, I suggest NOT using -framelimit 1, in my experience, when using it along with "-refreshrate 57" it makes it a little bit more stuttery. Hope it works guys!

If I remember correctly the benchmark goes up to 64 fps (it removes vsync when running it anyway) but the gameplay itself should be locked to 55 fps, I thought most people knew this?? Anyway, you could monitor your frames with fraps or something similar but im almost certain it is locked. But again, I could be wrong?

Just to clarify, what I was saying is that it's locked to 55 fps with vsync on.

Sweet, remember this is only for patches previous to 1.0.6.0, im using the refreshrate commandline on patch #4 and the loading times are just as fast as if I had vsync off. Hope it works for you too.

More bizarre discoveries: If I leave vsync activated in the graphics menu but add -novblank through a commandline, loading times are fast like if I had no vsync but vsync is actually working. You have to enable it before adding the -novblank command though.
