Force Unleashed was good. It was just way too f*cking short. Both games.

I hope the level design isn't too linear like TFU. That's the one thing other than the shortness of those games that I hated.

Besides it's boring and lore-breaking plot, The Force Unleashed was garbage. They make you visit the same planets repeatedly to save money. The Jedi battles were poorly designed and extremely arcade-y. Holding the lightsaber backwards was just silly. The only part of the game I liked were the pre-made kill animations you got at the end of killing bosses.

Hopefully this game doesn't suck as hard as TFU.

It's funny you should mention the lightsaber stance, my girlfriend was just making fun of that today after I made mention of the new Star Wars game.

Seriously though, the game looked like it was going to be good and more open-ended, I can guarantee this game will probably follow suit.

If it is open-ended I'll consider buying it - linearity in this day and age is pretty pathetic.

Either way I'm not holding my breath, I've been less than enthused with recent Star Wars games.

It might be a "glimpse of the future" like one of the developers said, but I'm still not entirely impressed. We can easily expect games like this on next consoles, I assume they've just jumped the gun and shown off an extremely early demo to build hype for the game.

At least they're pushing Star Wars games in the right direction though. Shame it's not Battlefront 3, but there's probably valid reasons why this game isn't a viable option for development.

I never quite understood the appeal with the SW: Battlefront series and this seemingly mass insistence for a BF3. The game was a Battlefield clone that was vaguely fun for an hour or two before becoming utterly boring. The game didn't last long on my PC if I'm honest.

I always thought it was awesome to have massive battles with all my favorite Star Wars people/weapons/vehicles/locations.

I loved it, most hours I ever logged into a CPU game by far. Using the characters was a great mix, like stormtroopers but also Darth Vader. Everybody has different tastes though.

The games were fun because it was basically giving you every character, weapon, vehicle, etc and giving you a map to do what you want in it. The "story" in BF2 was pretty cool too. Plus there was space combat and Jedi/Sith combat. I still play BF2 to this day because it's just plain fun. Well, that and I pretty much grew up on Star Wars. And Batman.

But anyway, it came out in 2005. Now imagine you take that concept, a free open world with all the stuff fans love with various match types and a story mode, and used it with the next gen tech. That's why everyone wants it so bad. Me included.

True, I guess after playing BF1942 extensively before Battlefront I was kind of burnt out on that aspect, even if it did tickle my Star Wars itch.

It certainly wasn't orginial the way it was laid out, but you never had as much freedom of maps/characters like that, and it was exceuted well. I wish there was larger maps though, I think it would've mixed well. Simply have a higher spawn amount for bots.

Wow, it has all the f*cking cliches. Inception music, linearity, "movie"-feel cover shooter game. I bet there will be multiplayer with perks, levels, and Prestige.
