The storyline was good but it bothered me that they left the gangbanging ways. Who else hated that and how would you
have changed it?

I'm actually glad CJ left the gang scene after the 1st chapter and had to meet other people.
I'm glad it wasn't just 'gang war after gang war' It was necessary for the story to continue.
For CJ to redeem Grove St, it was necessary for him to meet Truth, Toreno, Cesar, Wuzi, Jizzy, Kent Paul and Maccer, Mr Leone and all the others that he had to do missions for. It was the only way he would move through the story, eventually coming home and reclaiming the hood.
I wouldn't change anything in the storyline, there was a great mix of espionage, swimming, flying and driving missions. Pretty much every mission was perfect.
The only thing that bothered me was the
gang wars/taking back territories. To 100% it took me ages blasting ballas, was repetitive and got boring.
If I could have changed it, I would have made it you could select up to 20 grove members and then select an area for them to attack. Then while they are fighting you can watch the battle or help out here or there. Or another way, while they are fighting, you go and start another gang territory war in another zone. It would make taking the zones back faster.

This topic should be mo...

lol.gif Oh wait!

CJ never left the gang banging life, like Assie said, you go back to reclaiming territory in Los Santos. That's Sweets major concern is taking the streets from the drug pushing other gangs and not being an upity rich black man who can ignore it all. That is the overall end of the story.

I Never said this storyline was bad. I mean its pretty cool on all the stuff you end up doing...i Loved going back to groove street and getting to kill some ballas. It was awsome. There will never be a game as awsome as that one except for v

Don't Give Praise before it's Earned.
Look how badly they did IV, why should we expect V to be better?
So far San Andreas is the most playable and Replayable of all the GTA series.
Not story involved but I especially don't like the 'new' method of Game Saves.

the story of SA appears balanced, if in places weirdly unnecessary.

No, I thought that was great. It showed how CJ had grown and matured through the game - and don't forget the last mission ended where the story began. CJ will never really leave the hood.

Taking all the territories is not necessary to reach 100%
Otherwise, if you would meant taking enough territories to access to 'End of the Line', it is pretty needed as you have to find Big Smoke's place by gain enough influence in Los Santos again.

I would change nothing, this game is almost perfect for me! It brings so many memories when I play it again...

Me personally, I liked the fact that he got away. Because honestly, other gangbangers aren't going to group up and travel to some other city in a hick town like Whestone to find you. It was real. I have friends that had a problem with the lack of gang bangin' in the middle of the game, but they aren't very smart people, so I guess R* made a game for people with a little more complex and sophisticated gaming palate.

Honestly, the first time I played through the game I felt the same way after awhile because I didn't see the complete importance of them in the bigger scope of the story, I'm pretty bad at not watching cutscenes. But now I see that the SF missions were almost as if CJ was getting a behind the scenes look at how the Loco Syndicate fully operates and to know their strengths and weaknesses. Very important for stopping them from operating.
