i don't know if theres a thread this belongs in if it does either move or lock

but i want to take this to everyones attention in hope that rockstar games are reading this so they can be warned

saints row 3 has in opinion BROKE the record on dlcs it is like a free to play game that you pay for you can even buy a trainer in that game paying for a trainer

it is like paying money for mods

so this is a message to rockstar games and sharing of my opinion DO NOT LET GTA 5 NEAR anything that sr3 is

i am also curious to what others have to say about this and if they want this

i DO NOT want it i mean it i would be heart broken if gta 5 turned into this allthough i to be honest think it sadly will seeing the type of dlcs max payne 3 got i can always hope it will have a dlc like eflc that dlc was wourth every penny didn't even require the base game

I agree. Saint's Row: The Third is a shining example of what video games shouldn't become.

When it comes down to it, SR3 and GTA are completely different games (w/ similar genre) that can't be fairly compared. That said, I agree completely with the OP in the fact that I don't want to see anything from SR3 make an appearance in GTA V.

Agreed. I HATE what Saints Row is becoming. The DLCs are a joke. They're already hidden on the game disc but they're making you pay just to unlock them. The game itself could have been better as well. I'll admit it was alot of fun and the soundtrack was pretty good (The Mix 107.77) but the story didn't make any sense and the whole theme is just childish. Saints Row 2 was better. The upcoming Enter the Dominatrix DLC better be good or I'm done with the series. And stupid SR fanboys said the game would kill GTA.

I think it goes without saying, but GTA V will own Saints Row: The Third. Sorry to sound like a fanboy because I like both games.

Climbing and free running are pretty good, but apart from that, no, theres nothing to be drawn from SR3.

i liked saints row the third for what it was over the top crazy game but i liked it for what it was

if i wanted to change it i would use mods i would never pay dollar for dollar for skins

the game was fun but it was certainly no replay value game atleast not to me it was fine the way it was

the game is a prime example of quanity to quality

sr is quanity has everything but gta is quality

I personally like SR3 but i do agree about the DLC. I'm happy if R* stick with "Episodes" as long as they don't take anything from Vanilla just to release and get more sales with the episodes.

i meant in terms of the dlc system where they sell tiny skins for money

the only dlcs wourth buying are the ones that modding cannot replace

eflc has parachutes not something simple it also had a brand new story new voice actors new timecycle part new liberty city new weapons

it was a dlc wourth buying the thing i admire the most is that it never required the base game iv

rockstar games showed absolutely no greed releasing eflc and for that they gained alot of respect from me

this is what makes me worried

http://www.shacknews.com/article/71158/roc...c-in-the-future

QUOTE (shacknews article)
Houser suggests that the ambitious plans for the two downloadable episodes were partly set by Microsoft's initial exclusivity for the DLC. "We are kind of compelled due to various other business factors to make them that size," Houser coyly told Gamasutra.

Doesn't that sound like they are planning on make bigger DLC? They know that the exclusivity was what drove the profits into the ground, they could still do a EFLS and as long as they release it on both/all consoles at the same time, they'll make plenty of money off of it.

Don't worry about the DLC, Max Payne 3 is a shooter. All shooter games have similar type DLC, (Map packs and add-ons for Multiplayer)
GTA V will be fine. I think most people misunderstood what Dan Houser was saying when he said what he said. sly.gif

There was a free running in SR3?

Yes this, i like Saints Row but they really f*cked customers with their endless DLC.
I guess zzcool is right, it is not what we want GTA to become.

I really enjoyed GTA IV & Saints Row (1) because they were fun but grounded, they weren't stupid and overly childish, and GTA was realistic enough to immerse myself into without becoming a joke.

I really hope GTA V is more like IV than San Andreas, I feel like i'm the only person on this forum who thinks IV kicks San Andreas in the nuts.

Smaller map? Who cares.

Liberty City was a playground for big kids I never wanted to leave.
