I don't know what the f*ck is going on, but I have a perfectly legit copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, but for some f*cked up reason, after I complete the OG Loc mission, the sound stops working in the game. i mean, I can hear everything, but i can't hear the mission passed music, or the radio stations, nor can I change the radio station. Has anyone else had this same problem? PLEASE help. It's driving me f*cking mad. suicidal.gif

I have to restart the game for everything to work fine again, and whenever i do an OG Loc mission, this glitch comes back, what the hell?

One more thing, i'm playing on PC

When posting a problem, please, include the following information about your computer:
• Operating system (if you have XP, Vista, or Win7 and which Service Pack(s) is installed)
• Processor?
• Video Graphics card type?
• How much graphics memory, and is it Dedicated or Shared?
• RAM (random access memory)?
This information may also help to identify your problem.

PRE-TROUBLE-SHOOTING QUESTIONS:
If the game worked before, and have changed OS or Screen settings, If your system upgraded anything (drivers, etc) then the first step is to Delete the GTA_SA.set File. (The GTA_SA.set file is recreated at the end of each game play session. It contains OS data that may no longer be relevant.)

Are you playing the game in Vista/Win7 using
W98 (or XP) compatibility mode,
with Administrative Privileges?

And... before people here begin investing a lot of time trying to fix a possible NO-FIX situation:
What Version (retail, steam, other online store) Edition 1, 2, 3?)
Details of How you are playing:
1. With the Original DVD in the Drive?
2. OR are you Using a No-CD crack? (There is No fix to be found on this Forum.)
3. OR are you Using a 'backup' disc? (Fix is to use the Original DVD.)
4. OR do you have a Downloaded game from Direct2Drive, or SteamPowered.com
5. If none of the above, then what is the origin of your game? (Please be specific, as otherwise there may not be a fix to found on this Forum.)

Do you have Windows XP?

Cause Sound problems are common on Windows XP SP3...I too have sound problems on XP-the sound crackles and is staticy at times-yet on both my Vista and Windows 7 machines the sound is crystal clear with no problems...and the thing is, ALL 3 of those machines have the exact same sound card(Realtek HD)...and I have a legit V2(DVD) AND V3(Steam) game..

What tends to fix the problem, is to go to Start, Run(if XP)/Search(if Vista or 7) and type in DXDIAG and press Enter, then go to the Sound tab and Lower the Sound Acceleration to either Basic OR None..OR if Windows 7, you have to go under the Beats Audio control panel to adjust the Sound Acceleration level...This is a guaranteed method on XP, but only works on certain Windows 7 machines(mostly HP's) and WILL NOT work on Vista, as Vista has that option disabled-like some Windows 7 machines...

Radioman those are DPC issues, caused by driver conflicts. Even though yes, some cards can muck up easily.

OP: Delete your gta_sa.set file or reinstall the game, you won't lose your saves, but that's an odd behaviour. Nonetheless also try upgrading your sound drivers.

QUOTE (lil weasel @ Sunday, May 20 2012, 09:07)
What version is your "perfectly legit copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas"?
Is the Game modified?

I told you in my last post, It is V2(Retail DVD bought from Wal-Mart #990 back on June of 2005) AND I also have the V3(Steam) version...You must have missed that part?-lol tounge2.gif (I assume you were talking about me, as you never mentioned who that was referring to?) confused.gif

@Spider-Vice, Why is it just XP SP3 that has the sound issues, cause on my Vista and Windows 7 machines(which have the exact same Sound card) do not have any sound problems-the sound is crystal clear on those...those all have the Realtek HD sound card...? confused.gif

Did I miss something here?
I thought this is Ken1136’s problem.
Radioman: What do we care about your game?
Ken1136 claims to have “a perfectly legit copy…” but won’t tell us anything about it.
Not even the Version number or if it’s modded.

We only have half of the information that might be needed.

@lil weasal, Sorry about the confusion, but you failed to mention who you were referring to in that post and I was unsure, as I also mentioned that I had sound issues on my XP Pro computer as well..? So, I took a guess on who you were referring to..That's why it is best to quote the person you are referring to, as to avoid confusions, in my opinion-That's how I avoid confusions.. confused.gif
