This "Protag is too old" garbage is almost as stupid as all those not-at-all-racist nerds saying they didn't want to play as CJ because they couldn't "relate" to him. I don't need to "relate" to a video game protag, I just need to enjoy the character and feel invested in his or her story. The character's race, gender, or age is completely and totally irrelevant.

We've been over this again and again. If the protag. is the Ned Luke look alike he is probably the same age in the game, or younger, than both John Marston and Max Payne. Problem is, we don't know who the "main" character is. If he is and turns out to be 60+, then I say f*ck that sh*t. 40-45 isn't too bad, but I wouldn't want to see the main character for a GTA game be over 50 years old. If they have multiple protags I think they could pull it off, but not as a main character.

The poster isn't the point, the movie and the actors are.

The only reason people are exited about The Expendables 2 is because it's a film with living action movie legends kicking some serious ass.

GTA V's protagonist would be awe-inspiring and a force to be reckoned with if he was even half the man that one of those men are (on screen).

And, like I said, their average age is 56. Fifty-six is pretty damn old. But if 56 isn't too old for a movie, it can't possibly be too old for a video game.

I don't see the Expendables as much more unrealistic than GTA.
But I'm pretty sure Terry Crews could crush you in an instant, movie or not. The guy is 43.

Yeas could be, 5% percent of probability. Either way criminals are not fashion models and nobody cares how gta protagonists look, but how they behave and taking care of their business and problems. Anyone care about looks, go play retarded saints row the turd.
Now about protagonist, i would like mexican protagonist and cartel theme, that would definitely be something new and interesting.

I meant the whole thing, including the guys in it. I've seen the first Expendables, and to be honest with you, I personally just was not feeling the movie, because I grew up watching many of those guys in 1980s-early 1990s action films, in their prime. Therefore I could not take them seriously anymore, they just looked liked aged, washed-up action heroes who just didn't wanna retire and settle down, when they should be living peacefully off their pensions and sitting on porches reminiscing on old times. Yeah they were legends, but I just was not taken in by that fact. The movie just looked and felt corny to me, just the way I saw it.

And Hydraulic is right, that is all about allure of Hollywood blockbuster action movies, the producers can pretty much put whatever they want in those movies because the idea is to distort reality with an aim to impress the audience. With a video game more based on realism and crime like GTA, it's a bit different. Like I said, an older middle-aged guy kickin' ass changes nothing for me.

It's good you can understand my reasons for not wanting an older protagonist, which I've stated many times on here before. I do respect the fact that many guys want or are cool with having an older protagonist, but I find it very repetitive when the reasons given for their views are , "older, middle-aged guys can still kick ass and be bad, blah blah". Those guys just don't understand it is not always about that for those like me who oppose it. There much more complex reasons as to why many like me prefer a younger protagonist, but not everybody can explain themselves properly I suppose.
