Sorry if this is breaking the rules but this is a viral vid on the web right now ill post the link but not the vid
Sick mother beating up 8 month old baby. She was arrested and sentenced to 18 months in jail. Do you think this sentence is tough enough or not strict enough?

That's the first working link I've seen, but no f*cking way am I watching the full thing. Just f*cking horrible, and such a shame to see that scum like this actually exist on this planet...pure f*cking scummy filth.

18 months is far too lenient...why couldn't this have been classed as attempted murder? 8 month old babies are still developing, and are still weak, and the damage she was handing out could have easily killed that baby. 18 months and she will be free, yet it's probably still too early to determine if any permanent damage was done to the child...yet again, another case of the victim getting a longer sentence.

Why has this just suddenly gone viral though? This was from last year.

This is GTAForums, where we regularly beat and torture defenseless infants at our own free will.

But seriously, that is f*cked up.

That woman is insane, anyone with the actual cruelty to beat up a defenseless baby has a sick, twisted mind. I couldn't even see the end because of how horrid this video was.

The worst thing about this video is that, whoever was filming was doing nothing about it - sh*t, if I were there I'd give that woman a piece of my mind, then throw her to the ground and whack her with a pillow every time she tried to stand up.

Bitches be crazy.

It's funny how 'virality' works. 2 guys 1 hammer, that lady who threw puppies into the river, and this happen all the time, there are also more than likely hundreds of videos of this stuff uploaded every week, yet you all decide to settle on one video, get mad at it, and give up in a week or two. Where's all the support for The Invisible Children, do any of you even remember that video of the kids ganging up on the Asian kid? It's great that people feel terrible about something, but if the public's focus or dedication lasted more than a week or was stronger than just typing up how bad something is respectively, we'd probably be a lot better at combating this stuff.

You're wrong. Many people here haven't yet seen this, and it spreads the word.

What I want to know is why the hell they were filming it in the first place. I'm not saying I condone what they did, but if they did have a reason, it makes absolutely no sense to record it. And then they went and put it on the Internet. The only reason I could think of is they're simply seeking attention, and they certainly succeeded in that aspect.

And now that you know about it, what are you going to do about it? Oh right, nothing.

You know what I hate (apart from child abuse, I'd like to think that goes without saying)? It's people who spread around stuff like this under the guise of doing good when in reality it's the worst kind of slacktivism and really just a way of justifying rubbernecking. It's this sort of sh*t that results in me seeing mutilated animals, people with hideous deformities and horrific images on my facebook feed regularly. The worst part of it is that the images that get attached to the causes are usually not of what the actual "cause" is.

Note: I haven't and won't watch the video. There is literally nothing t gain from doing so.

This is the smartest thing posted in this topic, and I'm accounting for all future posts.

People need to learn the difference between raising awareness to a cause and actually doing something. There is a difference.

meh.

we live in a sick world.
sh*t happens.

I don't think there's anything to be gained by talking about this.
isolated incidents of people being horrifically stupid are part of life.

whaddya gonna do?
I know what I'm not gonna do: waste time chatting about it on the internet.

You're completely right about me, and this may contradict my original point, but I do think spreading it accomplishes something. The spreading of this helps introduce people to cruelty like this. As small as it may be there are a number of people who are changed by this. When this woman gets out of jail more people will despise her, and possibly make her life a living hell. I don't think she deserves everything people are cursing onto her, but it's great that she'll be a miserable person after all this is done.

we donīt live in a sick world at all. This kind of things happened and will happen. We are 7000 millions of people in the world so for sure you will find crazy people.
If you see the video you can become to this conclusion but the normal is much more usual than the anormal.

Perfectly summed up exactly what i was going to say, i too am not watching the video.

Why? Well it doesn't raise awareness at all, i think anyone over the age of 12 is very well aware of child abuse, all this does is get YT views for people posting it and the responses, and it will sit in our minds for a few minutes to be replaced by something else.

My issue with these issues is that there are millions of problems in the world and everyone has their opinion on what is the worst, some people are lobbying for more support for sex slaves, others are raising money for cancer, others for child abuse.
There is so many issues in the world and these little movements practically do sh*t all now that most people are already aware.

Think he was getting at the fact that stuff like this is rare, fortunately. The reason we hear about it so much is because of the news, and stuff like this makes news because of the shock value to it. If this was truly such a twisted, sick world, then this would have just been another video that got a few mentions and forgotten about.
