No. Heavy Rain is a great game (apart from the plot holes) but it is completely different from GTA in that it's completely story driven.

GTA is all about (fast) action, and I hope they keep it that way.

Going off topic here. but there is no way that LA Noire is a better game than Heavy Rain.

Heavy Rain kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It's no coincedence that a lot more gamers finished Heavy Rain than LA Noire. In fact, a VERY large number of players completed Heavy Rain's story.

Don't hate the game because it's not from Rockstar, or because someone suggested its gameplay mechanics should be implemented in GTA V (which isn't a good idea at all).

I really don't think GTA V should take gameplay elements from a game in which you spend 2 minutes sitting on your ass watching a kid do his homework, and in which it takes two hours for something to happen. No, really, watch this playthrough from part 1 to 13 if you don't care about spoiling the game.

I never said it wasn't a good game, I enjoyed it. I suggested it because LA Noire takes some cues from both Heavy Rain and GTA.

Skipped through it, couldn't tell if the reviewer guy was seriously impressed with the game or just trolling, I lost my sh*t at his excitement over the origami lesson and the brushing teeth part though. I'd like the ability to respond to certain situations uniquely that would ultimately affect the game ending but not to that extent that was shown in the clip. It wouldn't fit the chaotic atmosphere that GTA creates

I just recently played Heavy Rain and it was really good, loved it. Saying that, I wouldn't want a single element of it's gameplay in GTA. Not at all.

You have a PS 3 for Heavy Rain?

I haven't played it, I downloaded a demo for PS3 and all the damn demos activated to 'play' mode freeze my entire system so I was cheated out of trying it. Anyway, Character actions for GTA that are as simple as Pos and Neg comment responce can illicit humor from the game that's very much part of the enjoyment of playing GTA. Articulating hand movements is something they'll have trouble doing in the game's scale, but I am not a fan of the SIMS and how they communicate, I make no bones about it. For Vice City, you had small snippets of Ray Liotta talking while a cutscene shifted to your control back in the game, this was a very good creative move, it kept your interest in the game despite the needed transition between game mechanics, cut scene films where your control is relinquished, and then returned to you
Uncharted's goal for PS3 gaming was to cut down on the differences that stand out from cutscene to interaction

Hmmm, maybe not to the extent as we see in Heavy Rain but it could work.

You should know that sarcastic suggestions like yours kind of lose their bitingness when the suggestion actually sounds pretty awesome. I mean, this would make a great cheat. You spawn a broom and it falls to the ground, but then you pick it up and sweep you legs and it takes off like a rocket. That would be awesome.

Am I the only one who thinks this idea is actually pretty awesome?

(Rockstar already did a zombie DLC for RDR, might as well do witches for GTA. It could work out with some decent writing.)

(edit: It appears I'm not the only one to find this suggestion awesome)

Heavy rain was an interesting game, but completely in another world from GTA. The one word that comes to mind when describing some of the elements in the game is TEDIOUS. I was actually surprised that they included things like brushing your teeth. I mean REALLY?

SIMS is like that to me, I found that extremely boring and frustrating, not to knock it for those who like it, but the Open World hyper reality that is something akin to both SR and GTA is what will remain the interesting driving component, no pun intended.
You should be able to enter more buildings that are just Window Dressing, by sake of the realistic factor, and their use in creating your own fun within a GTA game setting
