| QUOTE (ZelenaSalata @ Sunday, May 13 2012, 08:38) | I thought this is the best place to post this kind of stuff.
I'm trying to make a character modification where I copied some of the key factors off another .txd file, and pasted them into the .txd of the skin I want to use, as I'm not familiar with 3DSMAX or anything, and 80% of the stuff is from the .txd of another model, I renamed the .dff as well and thought it'd work. But, instead I got blank textures. I require some help on this one, since I'm not sure if I need to use 3DSMAX or anything. Thanks. | TXD-archives contains textures which have names (subnames) these names are changable via Properties by using TXD Workshop these names must not be the same like these of TXD-archive these names are used as assignement for the model example: swfotr1.dff is assigned with swfotr1.txd to say the game "look in swfotr1.txd for texture" but the model of swfotr1.dff have "tramp3" as texture assignement open swfotr1.txd to see that it contains a texture with name: "tramp3" assuming you would rename "tramp3" into "swfotr1", then the game can't find the real texture and shows a white model

I've renamed the picture itself and the alpha mask, but still I get blank textures. I have a feeling that all of this is because of that .dff file, I'm not sure though. I've tweaked the properties of the .txd file in many ways, but still it is not working, so I'm not sure what to do about this one.

after changing or adding files of IMG archive you should run "Rebuild Archiv" before closing which img tool are you using? maybe your txd exist twice in your img because you just added the new one instead replacing for which dff do you wanna make new texture? is it still the origin dff? what's your OS? xp, vista, win7?

I am using the G-IMG tool. Nah, I checked twice and there is only one version of the .txd file, I once typed in the name wrong, but I fixed it afterwards. Since I added a hat to the skin, I used a .dff of a skin that actually has a cap, therefore it is not the origin .dff. I am using Xp.

oh, player.img..ok which was the origin name of dff? and which name have it now? | Well, it's actually a ped mod, I took the .dff off hmyap(.dff) since it has a cap, and renamed it to the ped I want it to be, bmybu(.dff) then imported both the .txd and the .dff, I'm not sure if its a problem with .dff or .txd, I thought it was a problem in .txd with Alpha masks, but no luck. I'm sure there's a problem in the .dff file, since if I leave .dff untouched (the original) I can mod .txd easily without any problems.
