So what? It's the religious fanatics that forfeited. Yeah, I'm sure the kids wanted a game, but they got their championship. I have no problem with religious fanatics waving a white flag. In fact, more religious fanatics should take example from them. Don't like evolution taught in schools? Home-school your kids instead of trying to change the system. The rest of us will only be better off.

This, basically.

I've never understood how a country with such an enshrined separation between church and state can have such an enormous problem with religious fundamentalism as the US does. But, then again, my personal view is that is that religion of any variety and denomination should have absolutely no place in the public domain. No state-funded faith schools- if you don't like the curriculum, then you'd better privately educate your kids. No significant displays of religious denomination- you can wear a cross, crucifix, star of David, headscarf, hijāb or niqāb- people should have the right to dress how they want as long it isn't actively offensive of inflammatory, but certainly no preaching on the streets or door to door. No state funding for religious charities- after all, charity is about personal philanthropy the same way that religion is about personal spirituality. No religiously motivated political parties. No state funding for religious organisations in general, in fact.



In my view, the sooner people accept that "religion" is a personal and spiritual concept at it's very core, rather than the politically and financially motivated mass-marketed tripe that most believers consume, then the world will be better for it.

Our history shows that living in a community and believing in the wrong way can/could get you killed.
While there is lip service paid to the idea of Separation of Church and State it is observed as much as the presumption of Innocence.
Polygamy is outlawed from the Federal Level, a practice that should be strictly religious in concept. Marriage is the current Rage, as has been the Women’s right of choice.

Like most Abrahamic faiths, they have a big, big problem seeing women as human beings. Women are either to be venerated as motherly figures or avoided as whores and seductresses.
It's imprinted into their teachings. They base their modern thinking around archaic texts which were written by misogynistic, possibly schizophrenic men. Is it any surprise they are not very enlightened when it comes to gender politics?

Devolution makes more sense than evolution these days.
