In commemoration of Wolfenstein 3D's 20th anniversary, Bethesda has released a free, online, and 100% legal version of the classic 1992 FPS. It's fun, almost identical to the original, and definitely worth a try. I've spent all day playing this gem, and I'm not even a fan of first person shooters or mazes. However, this game somehow manages to combine both genres into one addictive game.

Interesting! Although, why the hell did Bethesda create it since the game is an ID software title?

Zenimax/Bethesda owns (or at least publishes for) id Software.

Man, I never thought about it but this game reminds me so much of Indiana Jones. Especially the Last Crusade.

Nostalgia is awesome.

a stupid question: what do you mean "almost identical"? where's the difference? i don't know the original Wolfenstein well, but if i play an old game, i want it as close as possible to the original.

Just my curiosity colgate.gif

Well, first of all, you can't save...
Come to think of it, other than that, it's actually pretty spot-on. At least, it's the only difference I noticed.

Pretty much every storyline in a shooter game in those days was "shoot the dudes".

Yeah, I would have loved to read some info on B.J's back-story like how he come to be in the prision in the first place.

You have to understand it was one of the first FPS out there. It was more of Shoot everything that moves thing.

Fact is that what was just said by me was personal and possibly blowing out the nostalgia...that is not to be taken seriously... Wolfenstein is an amazing FPS! icon14.gif
