I was just thinking about ghetto areas in the trailer. Basically, we didn't see much of them at all, did we? At least I didn't. I think that's a little weird. See, if you look at the "Mapping Los Santos"-thread, most of the identified locations in the trailer are located in Downtown LA, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and Hollywood.

I realize of course that those are areas in which there are more identifiable places than random outskirt areas, but I'll say one thing and that is: a game that only portrays the "glorious" parts of LA and leaves the rest untouched, is a game which is not interesting to me.

Is anyone else with me on this? Los Santos in San Andreas were made out of plenty of poorer areas as well as the higher class ones, and that is why that city was almost perfectly balanced. I hope this version of LS will provide that same feeling, but as I said - the trailer shows mostly an awful lot of skyscrapers and other "nice" areas. Could it be that they simply chose that to be the theme of that particular trailer, and that's why we don't see the other areas in it?

Or do they simply choose not to include parts of the Greater LA area? In that case, it would be really disappointing.

The trailer's focus is another reason that I don't think this is going to be a gang centric game like some people are hoping. But I'm sure those poorer areas will exist and I'm sure there'll be gangs. The trailer did show a bunch of homeless people under a bridge, so it's not all glitz.

It s a marketing strategy. So why should R* show us everything they offer us in V in their first trailer? Don't you think there will be more trailers then only one?

So I'm sure they will show us something of the poorer areas of Los Santos in the next trailer and maybe something more about the countryside e. g. other cities. So just be patient. It wouldn't make sense if the realised only the glory parts of Los Angeles.

Two theories, both can be somewhat true:

Ghetto was "done" in GTA SA with a protagonist centered there. GTA V won't be a rehash.

The trailer showed a very limited part of the city. (The first GTA IV trailer showed almost nothing outside Broker and Star Junction and bridges in between. Alderney wasn't shown at all except for a corner of the ferry terminal with Algonquin in the background.)

The trailer did show Ghetto areas. The for sale sign looks go be around the Ganton area and the black guy running from the cops is also ghetto.

Who cares about ghetto anyway? It's all scum there.

The first GTA IV trailer was almost entirely centered around the Algonquin skyline and yet the game was about the poor. It's just the best way to establish the location.

Just because you've seen one trailer does not mean it sums up the whole game's content.

the ghetto areas didn't fit with the tone of the first trailer: it talked about returing, relax, kids and those things. They showed the countryside and airplane because of fans.

We will see lot of ghettos.

Look at what you saw in the first trailer for any GTA installment and you'll realise we actually see very little of the map until at least the third trailer in. It started most predominantly in San Andreas, where we saw plenty of slum areas, but literally nothing of the desert, Las Venturas and even bits of the countryside. It's all about playing cards close to your chest and leaving something for the player to discover on their own. In IV, all we saw at first was Hove Beach, with glimpses of the statue and the high-rise buildings we now know as Algonquin.

Come on people, we're smarter than this surely? This information starving is sending you loco.

Eerrr ok, so who exactly do you think you are gonna be playing as in GTA V ?? A guy in a tuxedo with good manners, charm and a stiff upper lip ?? An honest cop ?? No, you are gonna be playing as a f**king criminal gangster, which in most civilized, modern societies is considered by many to be scum. A criminal is a criminal, no matter whether its in the ghetto, the suburbs, or in the corporate offices downtown. And not everyone who lives in the ghetto is prone to committing crime, drugs offences or any other socially deviant behaviour, many are just poor but hardworking people trying to make a living in a deprived environment. Who are you to dismiss them as scum ? Especially when you don't know or can't relate to their stories or experiences ? I really have no idea what that amazingly stupid comment of yours is supposed to mean.

You sound like such an uneducated fool. Idiot.

...And if you had said you preferred V with planes as opposed to none, I would have posted a screenshot of a plane.

What I'm saying is you won't have to worry about that, because the trailer tells us it's in the game. And we clearly haven't seen all of Los Santos yet, so chances of way more ghettos are in your favour.

No, what's wierd is assuming that everything that will be in the game was crammed into ONE trailer.
