Grand Theft Auto V
How can the desert be improved from e.g GTA SA? Or just simply, what will be there?

I suggest you watch the trailer again |
lol, thats my favourite scene together with the plane flying over the Vinewood sign, but that doesn't confim a big/huge desert. | You're technically right, Los Santos and the surrounding hills...Doesn't sound like desert to me

You're technically right, Los Santos and the surrounding hills...Doesn't sound like desert to me | Well there is the wind farm scene andthe liquor store/hooker scene which looks like a desert environment to me. I don't know maybe there wont be a desert but given that Los Santos is probably the only city is seems weird to me that R* wouldn't take advantage of LAs fairly close proximity to a desert.

Yeah I love the idea of a desert but sadly no one confirmed it. It could be something they'll show in the upcoming trailers but if they would unveil a huge desert, who can really that they won't unveil other towns? I'm 90% that there is a quite big part of the map we haven't seen yet. Be it a desert, Countryside or other towns. The map just doesn't seem that big, especially not if there are planes in the game.

Topography- Some desert-plants, cacti and other - Atleast one interstate/freeway/paved road to passing through, like seen in several movies. - Canyons, heightdifferences, sanddunes in specific areas. - Tumbleweed/Hayballs rolling around with wind. - Windier than in suburbs/midtown/downtown , as desert is plain. - Animals, deers, racoons etc. People- Hillybillys/rednecks - Not very populated, a bit isolated from surronding regions - "Wierd" people, gun-crazys, moonshine brewers etc. - Hitchikers on the road, as random characters Mystical- Chupacabra - Shady people with hoods and sunglasses. - anything related to urban legends, - Atari videogame burial (E.T)

hitchikers is actually a good idea, one more way to get $$$. That would replace taxi missions

First post! Been reading this forum for a while now, some fantastic ideas being put forward.
Someone earlier mentioned a little Easter Egg, John Marston's hat being hung from a tree, this would be excellent along with a few other RDR references (provided of course it is in an area where RDR was set).
I'd love a top secret base, more detailed and expansive than the SA one. You can get in unnoticed and explore but you have to do very difficult side missions for corrupt guards who in exchange give you special uniform, ID and whatever that mean you can go look at some top secret weaponry, aliens etc.
Underground caves sound fun.
Loads of people have mentioned one, long, boring, desolate road. This is a must, it wouldn't be the American desert without one, some lost hitchhikers (as people have mentioned) would be good as a version of taxi missions or random encounters.
Animals.
Tiredness, very slow loss of health after a while, only replenished if shade is found.
Gypsy parks, the gypsy's are represented as hatable characters, one of the random encounters you come across in the desert has a vendetta against these gypsy's and wants you to steal a caravan/kill a couple/take someone ransom. Would be a fun little encounter.
Little oasis' where you can take a swim or drink, this can replenish health.
Loads more ideas, will come back when I can remember them!
