Max Payne 3 or Far cry 3, if and only if GTA V doesn't come out this year. If GTA V does come out this year then GTA V will be GOTY.

Yeah, I've been saying this since the announcement of the game. If it does come out this year, it'll be the one to beat.

But from what's already confirmed to be coming out this year, I'd go with ACIII with Bioshock Infinite a close second.

That is partly true, I think Brotherhood is the best of the series for the way they meshed countryside and city together and introduced the "Brotherhood".

Revelations is sub par, but ACIII has been in the works for 3 years or so, is completely reworked and has new features that are not recycled from previous games, there also won't be any tower defence, apparently.

Mass Effect was great but it had too many issues and produce quite a backlash from a fans that it would probably lose the title for this year.

Every game seems to get game of the year but it should be awarded to either Max Payne 3, GTA V or Halo 4. CoD will probably get it from all the usual hype. That franchise just needs to die.

Based on what I've played of it both multiplayer and single player I think Max Payne 3 is very likely to get a few GOTY nods and awards but at this moment it is too hard to really tell due to there being so much coming out in the latter end of the year, I do think AC3 is going to be a contender especially with the new setting.

I wouldn't think CoD will get it, I don't really notice CoD getting many GOTY awards as while the game itself gets reviewed well outlets tend to give those to other franchises.
