Just popped up: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/arc...lls-online.aspx | QUOTE | Long rumored and much anticipated, The Elder Scrolls Online is finally being unveiled in the June issue of Game Informer. In this month's cover story we journey across the entire land of Tamriel, from Elsweyr to Skyrim and everywhere in between.
Developed by the team at Zenimax Online Studios, The Elder Scrolls Online merges the unmatched exploration of rich worlds that the franchise is known for with the scale and social aspects of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Players will discover an entirely new chapter of Elder Scrolls history in this ambitious world, set a millennium before the events of Skyrim as the daedric prince Molag Bal tries to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic realm.
"It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years," said game director and MMO veteran Matt Firor, whose previous work includes Mythic's well-received Dark Age of Camelot. "The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise."
An in-depth look at everything from solo questing to public dungeons awaits in our enormous July cover story – as well as a peek at the player-driven PvP conflict that pits the three player factions against each other in open-world warfare over the province of Cyrodiil and the Emperor's throne itself. |

It's cool that they set it a mellenia before Skyrim so the singleplayer game can still advance onwards.
I however feel skeptical about this, mainly due to lack of information, which as I understand we'll get more of tomorrow. I can't imagine TES series becoming an MMO, while the notion of having to explore whole of Tamriel (if that's even gonna be possible) is absolutely awesome, I just can't wrap my head around of it being an MMO... If the gameplay will change to a third-person perspective button mashing aka WoW mode it really won't feel like TES for me anymore, the huge factor of TES being TES is the first person combat (Lets be honest, who plays it 3rd person view...), having skills that you need to execute in order to fart or grin at a monster like you're missing a few chromosomes so it runs away would ruin it for me.
Unless they kept the sort of active combat style as it were in Skyrim, only with a few tweaks on how to execute certain moves.
Now then... I wonder what kind of subscription model will it be, if it'll have any that is. As a long time WoW player I didn't mind the subscription model until recently where I paid money to not have fun and feel like I wanna strangle a bitch. Thus why I pre-purchased Guild Wars 2, but if it's like GW2 where it's pretty much Buy to play then that's bloody brilliant.
...
Come to think of it though... I already occupy myself with multiple MMO's, it's kind of hard to have more than 2 MMO's that you can keep up with.
I've no idea what I just wrote.
