To be brief, when I log into GFWL on GTA 4 I'm required to do an update.

Everything seems to be fine, update finishes and I back out the game like the guide tells me. Then windows installer runs for a few seconds and then I get this error message.

I'm running on windows 7.
I've tried everything from manual updates to running in compatibility mode. I even wiped GTA off my hardrive and tried again, still getting the same problem. confused.gif

Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz (4CPUs), ~2.5GHz
6144MB RAM
DirectX 11

Try running the installer in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3.

Try running the installer in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3.

Tried it, no joy.

Try using this http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?35p4qcjjyixx00o
Just run the archive on your desktop, allow it to unpack the files and then install both installers from that folder.
