It's quite clear to see in fact.

The main focus of GTA V will be money, it's really simple, it's the one thing every other GTA game has failed to revolve around. GTA V will be based on money and how much of it you have, and it makes sense. Even looking at GTA IV you can see how the wealth of the main character can build a story up, you start off broke and work your way up the ladder doing dirty work for people, what GTA IV didn't do make money the main focus, since Niko was more intent on finding that 'special someone', and not worrying about money too much.

This time R* will make use of how money is used in the game and use it to their advantage in terms of how the story turns out and things you are able to do in the game.

Don't mistake what I'm saying, GTA is a game about stealing cars, so I'm not trying to say that you won't be able to steal cars and such, it's the title of the game we're buying. But you can't steal everything.

I'm thinking we'll be buying properties to collect rent and regular houses to earn money, into businesses and such. The more money you earn, the more important your contacts become, the more dodgy dealing you get involved in. Since you're always broke in IV, the basis of the story stays the same, doing people's dirty work, the change in V will be you start off doing this and eventually employ other people to do these kind of jobs for you, the sort of jobs Niko would normally.

So where does that leave you? Well, since you'll be the guy sitting back while other people are doing what we'd usually do in the game, you'd think that means it'll make the game boring when actually the game will be more interesting, since you'll be getting involved in even more serious missions, like all the serious stuff. Instead of going to some guy and getting told to go and rob this, or kill them, you'll be telling yourself to go and deal with what needs doing, since you're the one with the money, you'll be the top dog, and would have to protect your wealth, other gangsters would want to take your position and you'd have to think twice about the people around you.

When you need a job done, you would have a selection of contacts on your phone you've met through the game, who you send is your choice, or even how many people you want to send.

So I do think you'll start off doing missions as normal but the bold new direction of the game will be keeping your position as the top guy, in VC you make your way to the top, and that's it the game ends, boring...not in V though, think about what would have happened after VC if the game carried on...it would be so good to be the one to send people out and act as the boss.

I stopped reading after you said the main point in GTA IV was NOT about money. Hmm.. Im pretty sure Niko has said "As long as I get paid" for at least half of the missions you play.

When gta IV came out I remember R* saying money was going to be important and it would be harder to earn money.

Money was easy to get and I couldn't do anything with it so hopefully money actually does matter in V.

Anyway I hope money is more than just something that goes towards buying luxuaries. Money should be relevant to how the protagonist survives. Maybe we can finally pay crooked cops, pay politicians to keep dirt away from our bosses, invest in fronts etc.

Basically it should be more than a reward. It should be key to how the game evolves.
