| QUOTE (interpolfan11 @ Monday, Apr 30 2012, 00:26) | | QUOTE (Butters 2011 @ Sunday, Apr 29 2012, 14:05) | Maybe we all have a different approach/view when it comes to 'overplaying' a track though? As I stated in my first post, I can be randomly going through a bunch of newly acquired music, come across a track that I really like, and just replay it over and over, then finally move on until I do the same thing with yet another track. If a track's that good, then why only play it once?
I do this with a lot of albums too, and for me, it's a compliment towards the artist/group. |
I thought the topic was about "listening to tracks on repeat", not overplaying a track. I'm guilty of overplaying tracks, but I never play the same track consecutively. | Related though, yes? Playing a track on repeat consecutively can also be deemed as overplaying a track...hence the reason I mentioned it, because others had already.

| QUOTE (King Mystery @ Thursday, May 3 2012, 20:50) | | QUOTE (OH NO @ Wednesday, May 2 2012, 21:07) | | Look, its a fact that women play songs on repeat. |
Well yes, some women do... but you're saying it like every single woman on the face of the earth listens to tracks on repeat. | Seems like Oh No is pissed at a certain lass he knows for playing the same track on repeat multiple times, and now puts all women in to the same category. As said though, yes, some women do play a track over and over, but the same can be said about men too, as has been proved in this topic. Personally, as I stated before, I'm only playing the track to myself, so why should I care how many times I listen to said track consecutively? I'm always finding new music to listen to, and when a track stands out for me, I play it on repeat for a while, then I carry on until I find yet another stand out track, and repeat.

Well, now how could I possibly know that. | QUOTE | | Seems like Oh No is pissed at a certain lass he knows for playing the same track on repeat multiple times, and now puts all women in to the same category |
well when its an old house track called "I want to f*ck you like an animal" it can be hard work. Also difficult to listen to. But yeah, I now know for a fact that all women purpotrate this heinous act for reasons, that I think we can both see, were never actually mentioned in the thread. As I never implied them. You know, and just saying, girls im with generally have little say when it comes to what music we listen to when were together, unless theyre one of the rarer ones who have a strong opinion on musical tastes, most just go with the flow, and Id say the majority of my girlfriends have ended up listening to a lot of music I have introduced them to. (Which is obviously partly as women make concerted efforts to share a bond with you regarding something which you are passionate about) but mainly because women generally can have a fairly flippant attitude towards music, and they are intrigued into how music can be such a huge part of your life, then they start listening themselves. im not talking about every f*ckin women in the world here either, actually.... nobodys daft enough to think that, surely...Anyway I have met many girls who love their music, but never to the extent of men,who are definitely more cultured in their musical tastes I mean, they listen to things like Westlife for f*cks sakes. And we will include Gays on the womens sides for parity, lesbians can..just..roam about at their own whim. | QUOTE | | yes, some women do play a track over and over, but the same can be said about men too, as has been proved in this topic. |
Yes, these men show female traits.

| QUOTE (Robinski @ Friday, May 4 2012, 21:11) | | I can't remember the last time I saw so much misogyny condensed into one post. | Aye, was a struggle to fit it all in. You know, in the parts where I am serious, I am speaking earnestly and from past experiences, for what its worth. Like when I say "men more cultured taste etc etc. Well males seem characteristically disposed into identifying with something, a sports team, music whatever...and then devoting a large majority of time to it. As much as a woman would try to understand and get involved they are generally puzzled by your reliance on it, and prefer to use their time doing something more productive. Im generalising yes but im sure this is a very common situation. | QUOTE | | But I do find myself going away from a certain song or album after excessive listening. Only to come back and love it as much again and remember the words like I used to remember them. |
Yeah definitely man.I actually do it with actual artists or groups as well and will then binge on a discography.
