I've been listening to "Bitch Suck Dick" for several hours. I for one don't find that very feminine...

I have the willpower of 1004 wreckin' balls and its my job to listen to songs over and over, better yet its my job to write then perform songs over and over as well. Some music is very textured and that's great, some just have plain old fashion great hooks. At the end of the day an artists greatest aspiration is to write music that makes all people replay their work. It isn't a female trait its a universal one, sh*t I think I'll put my Nsync and Rebecca Black albums on repeat at the same time in honor of this fine thread.

Maybe we all have a different approach/view when it comes to 'overplaying' a track though? As I stated in my first post, I can be randomly going through a bunch of newly acquired music, come across a track that I really like, and just replay it over and over, then finally move on until I do the same thing with yet another track. If a track's that good, then why only play it once?

I do this with a lot of albums too, and for me, it's a compliment towards the artist/group.

I thought the topic was about "listening to tracks on repeat", not overplaying a track. I'm guilty of overplaying tracks, but I never play the same track consecutively.

Related though, yes? Playing a track on repeat consecutively can also be deemed as overplaying a track...hence the reason I mentioned it, because others had already.

I never listen to a song straight after I just listened to it. I may listen to the same song more than once a day if I'm really enjoying it though. I prefer to wait though because it makes the song that much more enjoyable when you give it some time (kinda like masturbation cool.gif)

...but we do. That's a fact. Regardless if it's an effect of societal conditioning or biology.

That said, the idea that listening to a track on repeat is a "female trait" is f*cking ludicrous. It's an obsessive trait, to be sure, but I don't understand why it's feminine.

It will be even more of a "female trait" when all the insecure idiots find out about this. Why is ballet a feminine activity? Only because the idiots say so!

Disagree.

On certain things, though. Listening to tracks on repeat isn't one of them. I really don't see how it's feminine though. If someone likes a song, regardless of gender, they're most likely gonna crank it up again. It's just a matter of liking.

Ignoring everything about Male and Female tendencies since that is irrelevant and i am not sure why you added that in, i try to restrain myself from listening to good tracks as often as possible, nothing worse than overplaying a great song and ruining it for yourself.

I have ruined these songs for myself.
'Deep cover/187 on an undercover cop'
'It was a good day'
'Cat's in the cradle'
and many others i just can't recall their names.
So like i said now i restrain myself.

Ok ,as we know, women are often emotionally driven creatures (much more so than men, from long time experience.)

They are also generally very fickle in regards to their musical tastes (Not every women though,by far)

thus the overplaying of favourite tracks because its the best thing theyve ever heard, till two weeks later and everyones on the next fad.

Plus why would I listen to dope track constantly when its just given me goosebumps and I need time to reflect on it. I dont watch a horror movie twice in a row thats just shaken me up and expect it to effect me in the same way.

I also love that anticipation of waiting to hear a track again that I know will do the business. This is what I mean about restraint.

Look, its a fact that women play songs on repeat.viddy_pirate.gif

Well yes, some women do... but you're saying it like every single woman on the face of the earth listens to tracks on repeat.

Seems like Oh No is pissed at a certain lass he knows for playing the same track on repeat multiple times, and now puts all women in to the same category. As said though, yes, some women do play a track over and over, but the same can be said about men too, as has been proved in this topic.

Personally, as I stated before, I'm only playing the track to myself, so why should I care how many times I listen to said track consecutively? I'm always finding new music to listen to, and when a track stands out for me, I play it on repeat for a while, then I carry on until I find yet another stand out track, and repeat.

Well, now how could I possibly know that.

well when its an old house track called "I want to f*ck you like an animal" it can be hard work. Also difficult to listen to. But yeah, I now know for a fact that all women purpotrate this heinous act for reasons, that I think we can both see, were never actually mentioned in the thread. As I never implied them.

You know, and just saying, girls im with generally have little say when it comes to what music we listen to when were together, unless theyre one of the rarer ones who have a strong opinion on musical tastes, most just go with the flow, and Id say the majority of my girlfriends have ended up listening to a lot of music I have introduced them to. (Which is obviously partly as women make concerted efforts to share a bond with you regarding something which you are passionate about)

but mainly because women generally can have a fairly flippant attitude towards music, and they are intrigued into how music can be such a huge part of your life, then they start listening themselves.

im not talking about every f*ckin women in the world here either, actually.... nobodys daft enough to think that, surely...Anyway I have met many girls who love their music, but never to the extent of men,who are definitely more cultured in their musical tastes monocle.gif

I mean, they listen to things like Westlife for f*cks sakes. And we will include Gays on the womens sides for parity, lesbians can..just..roam about at their own whim.

I know what you mean, I can't listen to a song that much back to back but when I get over-excited about a song, I absolutely have to go back and replay it but it's only 5 or so times at most. Thankfully, I never lose my interest in a song I love unless it's a complete 180 in taste. But I do find myself going away from a certain song or album after excessive listening. Only to come back and love it as much again and remember the words like I used to remember them.

Aye, was a struggle to fit it all in. You know, in the parts where I am serious, I am speaking earnestly and from past experiences, for what its worth.

Like when I say "men more cultured taste etc etc. Well males seem characteristically disposed into identifying with something, a sports team, music whatever...and then devoting a large majority of time to it. As much as a woman would try to understand and get involved they are generally puzzled by your reliance on it, and prefer to use their time doing something more productive. Im generalising yes but im sure this is a very common situation.

Yeah definitely man.I actually do it with actual artists or groups as well and will then binge on a discography.
