Why dont the 'GTAForum guys' make the avatars bigger? idk , 64 x 64 is too small, alot of forums today have bigger resolution avatar ones

Actually avatars doesnt take alot of broadband, just make it accept only .jpg or .gif

I would recommend instead of 64 x 64 , make it 96 x 96 or 128 x 128 ones , or make vertical ones, like 96 x 128

That would make some bandwith problems. I really don't see why you need bigger limits, you can get an awesome avatar even between these limits. If you don't like 64x64, you could use one of the available avatars on the forum's database, which measure 80x80. I mean, just imagine if everybody would have 128x128 avatars. The server has already enough problems with the amount of members and posts getting higher.

To be honest, I would like the limit to be 80x80. Shouldn't be a problem.

The avatar size never really bothers me, I think it's neat and is big enough to have a purpose, but small enough to not distract from the post. I hate forums with huge avatars it's just annoying. The avatars have improved anyway, there used to be a file size limit like on sigs, but it's been completely removed now which is great. I really wish they did the same with signatures, 80Kb can be a nightmare in some cases when trying to get good quality.

As with everything else, I guess we need to wait for GTAF V2 to see those kind of improvements.

Making the signature space bigger (in kb) and adding a limit to avatars would help balancing the things.

To be honest that wouldn't do the trick, it's not really about money with this place (although I'm sure it wouldn't go amiss). The software is that borked and held together with gaffa tape and cable ties, that it's a wonder it stays together at all.

As far as I remember trying to put limiters on the Avatars is a pain because they work on the different part of the forums software than signatures do, although it would be nice, especially when you get those 5mb mini movie avatars which slow the whole page loading process right down.

Taking into account the default font size of the forum, any avatar bigger than 64x64 would look horrible. The 80x80 ones that we have in the gallery are a prime example. The current dimensions are perfect.
