Let's say after GTA V, they don't plan on making another GTA for 8 years. What would you do or how would you feel regarding that? Let's say R* North want to work on other stuff or they want to make a GTA game so good that it can only be done in 8 years aka double the time right now.

Curious as to how people will react. I actually think they will do something of the sort. They can't keep making GTA after GTA. After GTA V they'd make what...GTA VI? Then GTA VII, GTA VIII, GTA IX etc..

I don't think it will last that long. I think personally that they will make a GTA MMO or something of the sort eventually and just retain that and add on to it. They just can't keep making GTA after GTA, it will get stale since they themselves have said they only want to do U.S. and the only major cities in the U.S. worthy of a GTA are NY, FL and CA/LV.

How can you see GTA VI as hard to imagine? If I can imagine 12 more CoDs I can definitely expect many more GTAs to come.

Actually they can, after GTA V there will be GTA: Subtitle and GTA: With Another Subtitle, then GTA VI and it repeats.

And what if they ever get bored of the US? Do you think they're seriously just gonna can the series that made them who they are now, just because they ran out of ideas for games in the US? D you really believe R* will never try another GTA in London? Or any new city that has as much personality as any American city?

Ok, I see your point, but on the other hand, while they want to stay confined to the US in GTA and maybe venture out onto other projects, technology is the key to consider.

It's not like GTA has stayed exactly the same each generation. There have been vast improvements per each numbered GTA. Hence why Rockstar maybe wanted to just make IV and V this generation. Make a game at the start and end of the generation to show the difference a few years can make. If we don't get "episodes" for GTA V this time around and just get GTA VI on the PS4, Xbox 720 etc, then GTA will have evolved again, taking advantage of technology and creating fresh and exciting experiences in the process.

They haven't been doin GTA after GTA, haven't u seen everyone freakin that it's been 4 years since IV came out? If they wait 8 years then they'd more than likely tank. Lets be honest its the GTA fans that are the foundation of R*'s success, LAN would have been an even bigger disappointment if people weren't feindin' for V. RDR did well to calm the waters for a year but still it was GTA with a cowboy hat. GTA fans are the ones who hype all R* titles then the rest of the public catches. If R* decided " fuk it no mo GTA" then they'd know that no other title could fill the financial hole GTA would leave in its absence. They are tryin to create other ips to lessen this fact and to date IMHO RDR is the only other title that came even remotely comes close but still pales way in comparison to GTA's numbers. There's still alot of sh*t for the franchise to cover and V will be another passage on the lineage. Will time pass between V and VI? Yes, but hopefully we won't have such a retardedly long wait. I'd say 2 years in between seems fair as we'll get new ips and sequels to RDR, Bully, Manhunt, MP, LAN,etc.

And all GTAs have been loose interpretations of cities in the United States. They won't get stale because all they have to do is make a new interpretation of the city. Does GTA3's Liberty City remind you in any way of GTA4's Liberty City?

Well for one, I would really hope that V would be the absolute best GTA, best in every aspect over all of the previous titles. If they left it like that for 8 years I wouldn't mind too much, and would just play other games. Then after an 8 year break, I would expect an even better GTA with those 8 years of technological advances. The 6th game I would want to see a GTA that has multiple countries, and atleast one country set out side of the U.S.

I can't see Take Two allowing R* to stop making GTAs, their most successful franchise, without having another great game to replace it, so i wouldn't be too upset.
Anyway, there is so much more R* can do with GTA in my view, and it definitely isn't a game that has gotten stale, unlike other games, which are released on an annual basis.

well GTA V is almost 100% sure to be the last PS3/Xbox360 GTA, it would take a long of time for R* to update or make a new engine for that matter to fill all the capacitys of new consoles

Well it would never happen until they "Simulate the world outside" as they stated a while ago.

I'm pretty sure GTAV will not have a life-size identical map, nor will it have Photo-realistic graphics. So we can assume more GTAs until they finally make it identical to real life That will probaly be on the Playstation 10

In 8 years I'll be 34. I'll probably have a family by then and it wouldn't really bother me.

GTA is legendary, but it can't last forever.
