So, I'm going to Paris for a week from the 28th April-5th May and I'm stuck for ideas. I'm going with 3 friends and we've rented an apartment in the Montmatre area and we're looking to kick back for a week. We'll visit the usual tourist attractions (Eiffel Tower, Louvre, etc.) but I'm more interested in knowing where the best nightlife is; clubs, bars, any decent live music venues, gigs or events?

Any tips would be appreciated, I'm sure someone knows of the hip and happening dives Paris has to offer

The only place I went to in Paris was a bar next to Moulin Rouge. It was super fun but French dudes are super pushy with women so you need to have your A-game just to get noticed.

Don't bother buying pints either, straight to spirits. Or pregame with some Kronenbourg's beforehand. Top beer.
