I have recently installed GTA San Andreas on my laptop and mostly everything seems okay, but certain functions I have noticed dont seem to work no matter what I do.

1) On the mission where you have to dance, the dance keys wont work at all. I have triple checked which keys I am supposed to use, but nothing happens during the mission. The low rider mission worked okay though.

2) I have noticed that I cant do a reverse turn with an aircraft whilst on the runway or turn corners at all. The planes can only go in a straight line.

I have been over the keys dozens of times making sure I am pressing the correct keys, but I think this problem may go further than that.

If anyone could help me, it certainly would be appreciated.

If you don’t hold a key the Aircraft will/may maintain normal level flight.
Don’t over control, do use light taps until you get comfortable.

You need to use the KeyPad numbered keys.
On a laptop they are imbedded in the letters around JKL. (Note the Blue Numbers).
To use them you must engage the Blue FN (function) key first. Usually on the left lower side of the keyboard.

Hi lil Weasel

I installed the PC version and I did mod a couple of the firearms. I replaced the MP5 for a much more detailed version and I also replaced the micro Uzi with a realistic Mac-10. I was gonna change more firearms but there seemed to be problems doing that, Its like the game was confused as to which firearm was which.

I had no problems doing it in Vice City.

Thanks

A note: It isn't necessary to Quote unanswered postings immediately previous to yours, especially large ones. Please, use the Add-Reply or Fast-reply buttons at the bottom of the page.
The San Andreas Forum is for UN-modded games.
What we recommend is to get rid of all Mods.
Play the game with a CLEAN install from your DVD.
And, play with the DVD in the Drive.
If you don't have a problem with game play you don't have a problem.
You may then install your mods ONE at a time playing the game to be sure it still works.
Then, you may install the next mod. Repeat.
When you get to the mod that screws the game don't use it OR go to the Modding Forums for help.

Okay, I will undo those mods and see if it works. I had also used a 'No CD crack' also. I will remove that too.

Thanks

I have reinstalled San Andreas from scratch and I havent added any patches, mods or cracks at all and I am still having the issue with the controls.

When I get into a plane, I cant turn it. All it will do is go back and forward when I am on the runway. I cant turn corners at all. I have checked the key config, but I dont see why it should be any different that turning corners with a car.

Thanks

Which versin did you buy?
Are you playing with the original DVD in the Drive?
.If you are a Vista player you have hidden files that need to be removed.
QUOTE (girishb @ Posted Dec 15, 2008 15:42)

If you're on Vista, you'll need to do this:
1) Uninstall SA.
2) Delete the installation folder if it still exists. (e.g. C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).
3) Delete the Virtual Store copy of the installation folder too. The Appdata folder might be hidden. (e.g. C:\Users\???\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).
4) Delete the gta_sa.set file from your user files folder.
5) Reboot.
6) Reinstall SA.

To Unhide Folders:
START > User > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Folder Options> Show Hidden files and Folders.

Yes I am playing with the DVD still in the drive.

I am not sure what you mean by version, as far as I know it is the European PC version and Im using Windows.

I will have a look for that folder.

I fixed the problem.

It turns out that it takes SIX keys to taxi an aircraft in San Andreas. Jeez, I never had this problem in Vice City, everything was much simpler.

I just hope these additional keys will be the ones required for the dance mission later on.

Thanks for the help anyway.

for Dancing you should only need the ARROW Keys.

For the Jumping Cars you use the NUMPAD.
Vialpando LowRider Jumping Car competitions:
Special Control Left = NumPad 4
Special Control Right = NumPad 6
Special Control Up = NumPad 8 (or DEL key)
Special Control Down = NumPad 2 (or END key)
To jump up & Left = NumPad 4 and 8 at same time.
To jump up & Right = NumPad 6 and 8 at same time.
To Jump down & Left = NumPad 4 and 2 at same time.
To Jump down & Right = NumPad 6 and 2 at the same time.
Make sure your Keyboard - Repeat Delay is SHORT & Repeat Rate is FAST
(Start/Control Panel/Keyboard)

The Taxi Aircraft should use only the Forward (W) or Reverse (S) Throttle to move the aircraft and to turn the plane Right (E) or Left (Q).
I would/Do suggest that PC users get a USB GamePad (such as Logitech Dual Action) to play the game. (Not to try to use a Xbox/PS3 console pads).
