Will the Australian version be censored? Like GTA IV or RDR?

In doing that not only am I supporting other countries and not my own (which I don't really care about lol) but I'd have to wait several days after release before I can even play it. And a game like GTA, I just would not be able to wait. |
You don't live in North America; so you'd have to wait anyway around three days before the game comes out. You could also pre-order it. Worst case, you order online later and have to wait; but if censorship is really a big deal to you, then you shouldn't mind waiting a few days for a copy after waiting 4+ years for GTAV title. As for supporting your country, isn't the whole point of the industry potential sales being lost(don't know how significant it is for I haven't seen any figures) to uncensored versions overseas the main anti-censorship lesson that is to be taught?

| QUOTE (mubd @ Sunday, Apr 22 2012, 15:26) | | QUOTE (allhailkingryan @ Sunday, Apr 22 2012, 21:45) | | I used to live in Australia, and the rating system was absolute garbage. There wasn't even any actual age restriction, as parents could buy 8 year olds MA15+ games as long as they accompany them. I think 18+ is a harsh rating though, as 16 year olds are mature enough to play games. If you're not mature as a 16 yo, you're not gonna be a mature 18 yo |
As long as their parents accompany the child and the parents agree with regards to purchasing the game, I think it's fine for them to be able to purchase the game. I thought that was the same in other countries too. | In the USA, anyone can buy any game rated EC (3+), E (7+), E10 (10+), or T (13+), but at most retailers, you have to be 17 to buy a rated M (17+) game, and at all retailers you have to be 18 to buy a rated Ao (18+) game. Same goes for movies. G, PG, PG-13 rated movies will admit anyone, R will admit anyone accompanied by someone over 17 if the 17 year old pays, and NC-17 will not admit anyone under 17 period.

Why not build it into the gaming options menu? A perfect example is in playing RDR, where the missions available are confined to a specific order, where it can be narrowed down to just one on the map, you go stand in that location of the map to bring the mission about, whereas, if these were locked off, anyone could just use the digital map and vehicles without the MA scripted content. There would still be the standard aspects, some violence I suppose, depending on how you play it, I'd say you'd have to remove weapons and have other missions that are the ambient type..
MA is Mature rated, R is Restricted, a tougher rating, more Mature material or stronger perhaps? I don't need concern myself with them anymore! haha
