I would rather have a good 1-2 months left playing my favorite game. If it is 2013 I don't think I'll ever forgive them on that, making us wait this long when the world could possibly be ending, it's gotta be damn well worth it I hope. |
ok, your nickname is perfectly in accordance with your personality |
I'd blame R* for that, making me wait this long has turned me into a psychopath I mean this is getting crazy, the game should have really already been out by now if they had started on it in '08 and had a trailer in November of '11. I think I might just be with Zee, done with GTA if it's 2013 unless its the best game ever.

| QUOTE (Shreddy Krueger @ Wednesday, Apr 18 2012, 14:57) | To all the people claiming that TT will have enough games releasing holiday 2012, have you ever heard of flooding the market? If the majority of highly expected A+ titles are published under TT, then guess who the majority of the revenue is going towards? There's also the lengthy sales record after all the initial launches, as people continue to buy other games that they decided not to buy upon initial release (i.e. buy GTAV in Oct-Dec, buy Borderlands2 Jan - Mar, buy Bioshock Infinite Apr - Jun, purely an example). This is what will allow TT to have a higher share return, a steady revenue stream. Getting all your revenue right away does not bode well for long-term gains.
But the next fiscal year will show a huge plummet of profits when compared which will look a lot worse to the stockholders and what not.
this
and there is no major AAA title for TT that is slated to release on 2013.
i.e. buy GTAV in Oct-Dec, buy Borderlands2 Jan - Mar, buy Bioshock Infinite Apr - Jun, purely an example
i know this is simply an example but if you go by your theory, why do they to want release the bio... and border.. on fall 2012 if know one is going to buy it??
@ STAR_KILLER... That is the exact opposite of what I was going for. I re-read my post and it's not that clear. My point was that for TT to release/publish that many games at the same time (approximately, call it same "season"), the majority of games that would draw a high demand would all have TT's stamp on it, therefore even though these games would all compete with each other, the revenues would all funnel up to TT. Just because everyone on this forum all wants GTA before any other major title (i.e bioshock/borderlands) doesn't mean there isn't a decent amount of people who wouldn't want either of those games first. On top of that, you have to remember that most of the developed world is in a shopping frenzy from Oct-Dec because of Xmas. So one company (TT) floods the market with some of the most highly demanded games ever created, at a time when consumerism is at it's highest. The profits for each individual game may not be record-breaking, but when summed up altogether, it would be a very solid return for TT.
@Utricular... The last bit of my above paragraph leads into your post. I'm also not aware of any TT major titles for their fiscal 2013, so indeed you may be right. But based on what I know to be fact right now in terms of games being announced, if TT won't have anything major in fiscal 2013, than they most definitely want to have a steady stream of revenue coming in through 2013. ONE way (not the only way) they can do this is by releasing all their major titles at once (say oct-dec 2012). There will be more consumers at this time due to Xmas, as well as more choices for consumers. so in terms of just TT releases, there will an increased # of games purchased between bio/border/GTAV (if released) combined, however they will all have less sales PER GAME than if only 1 or 2 of those games were released. the thing to understand here is that even though not every consumer will buy all 3 games at once (some will, sure), the DEMAND for those games is still there, and once the new year comes and people have some disposable cash again, they will go buy the game(s) they didn't get prior to Xmas. This spending in the new year will is what will cause TT to have STEADY streams of revenue. Same scenario will go for any DLC that gets released for these games as well. In terms of business, generally speaking, the more steady a company's income and revenue streams are, the higher the value of the shares will be. Having wild swings up and down, shareholders see that as "volatile", and are less likely to invest in it, which will lower the price of the share.
Sorry that was so long-winded guys, just trying to get my opinion across. In no way am I saying this will DEFINITELY happen, just my 2 cents. | Are you the only person who has actually taken into account properly the financial aspects of the release date for this game? I agree that we're looking at a September/October 2012 release or possible December 2012 if any unexpected glitches or problems arise. But I think Rockstar will frustrate people if it is not released before 2013. The game looks fairly solid from the trailer indicating the major workload has been taken care of already. Also now they are comfortable with the RAGE engine as they displayed in RDR, there should be no ridiculous delays as with GTA IV and also this should mean an earlier release seeing as physics and mechanics only need a brushing up. Extending the wait of another major GTA past 4 years is not what the fanbase wants, and an angry and frustrated fanbase is not what R* wants. I also agree with the notion mentioned that many people predict 2013 so they won't be disappointed and have to suffer more in agonising wait.

Hmm, I didn't know they can be idiots for having different opinions... idiot.
Anyway, some people, including myself, feel that it is coming out in 2013 because of timing. If they are going to release the game in October, and release no more info until June, then they have to pack a lot of screen shots/trailers in a four month period. I agree with abottig. |
Wow, this forum is full of stupid low life losers. |
Chill out man. Go drink some piss weak beer and get fat.

You know, British people's teeth would be a whole lot nicer if they didn't have so much sh*t coming out of there mouths..... Go warm up some bangers and mash then have a wank you billy no-mate duffer.... You've probably never touched fanny before.... OT: Honestly, i think since everyone has such high expectations for V that they feel that in order for this game to be impossibly mind-blowing, it has to be coming out in 2013, otherwise, it might be 'rushed'........look idk...i think its going to be Oct. release.... I just came to tell off that uptight British wise-ass. 'MERAKUH!!! This post has been edited by JStarr31 on Monday, Apr 23 2012, 15:57

| QUOTE (HeNDo6750 @ Friday, Apr 20 2012, 07:08) | if this kind of quiet marketing of GTA V was not planned by R* themselves, and no trailer has been released on the 23rd or 25th of April this year then my interest with GTA V will be under 50% of my overall interests levels.
So if this month has got no more trailers of GTA V then good luck to R* w/o selling GTA |
I think arguing about when its going to come out is pointless ( i mean R* could well do whatever the f*ck they want to,that meaning they could release the game in 2014 if it suits them best, they don't owe us anything like information or stuff like that or when the game has to be released)...but i just CAN'T WAIT to see how so many people who say sh*t like : "ughhhh i've lost interest in this game,R* are so stupid for teasing us and giving us no info at all,i'm not gonna buy the game cuz they didn't gave us any info..." WILL actually get excited as hell and post all kind of stuff when R* give us more information or release another trailer in the next months...Personally, like many of you, i have been a big fan of the series my whole life (best and favorite games ever made ),i am excited but its not like im mad at R* for not giving us any more information so far...i mean, show some respect and be patient...most of you say that R* make the best games ever and are the best game producing company ( i think that's true) ,but all of that is so just because they take their f*ckin time (not like other companies) and make the best out of it....so give them time, because if its not going to be about : "waaaah i want more info and the game as fast as possible waaaah" then it's going to be : "waaaaah the quality is not that good,i wanted better graphics and gameplay waaaah" ...shortly to sum it up : (and thats my opinion) SHUT THE f*ck UP! .........and talk about something more productive This post has been edited by libertycityfilms on Monday, Apr 23 2012, 15:49

There's a lot of ways for R* to plan their releases over the next 6-8 months, but when they come out swinging with a forecast of $2+/share income for a specific fiscal period, well you gotta think they've got something planned up their sleeves. My above is my best guess as to what the outcome may be to get to that $2/share. If I'm right, awesome, we all get to enjoy GTAV soon. If I'm wrong, well then there's a reason I'm not an accountant for R* or Take Two
