No company releases a trailer more than a year earlier than they will release the game unless they are stupid and have no respect for their fan base. It WILL come in 2012 unless they have some serious delay problems which I highly doubt as they will have got the game engine sorted much sooner this time around. Aren't the new consoles coming in 2013 anyway, why would R* release a game onto old gen consoles in that year when new consoles are just about to come out?

I've been in countless arguments with my mates over this since November - they all think the game will be out by Summer or October, or even Christmas.

I seem to be the only one with sense, safe in the knowledge that GTA V wont be out until 2013.

They have released 1 trailer - they need to put out at least 3 more, if we're going by their usual trend. And they usually leave months between trailers.

We've got no news at all.

They delay their games alot more frequently now.

About April/May 2013 seems far far more likely in general.

someone did have a good point on this forum earlier, they said gta 4 was originally meant to have 2 trailers but because it got delayed 6 months they released another 2. so its possible that gta 5 might only get 2 trailers unless it is delayed, which tbh is inevitble

i still think its a 2013 release tho

-Take 2 have other big releases that will most likely be upstaged by GTA V therefore potentially caniballising their earnings.
-They probably fear V will have to share sales with the other big players namely Halo4 and Call of Duty (Some people only have enough money for one game during the holiday season and this gen Cod has become the GTA of this generation in terms of popularity.)
-Even if they ignored those two points judging R*'s reputation there would be a delay very close to the release sending it into 2013. It sounds pessimistic but you can almost bet on a delay at some point.

With that being said I'm still hopeful for a 2012 release, it would be a great way to celebrate VC's 10th anniversary by releasing it in October.

Anyway, some people, including myself, feel that it is coming out in 2013 because of timing. If they are going to release the game in October, and release no more info until June, then they have to pack a lot of screen shots/trailers in a four month period. I agree with abottig.

There has only been one GTA this gen. I understand that R* tends to delay, but people need to start asking why they delay instead of just blindly claiming that it will happen. GTAIV was delayed due to inexperience with the RAGE engine and problems with porting the game over. R* has plenty experience with RAGE now and I doubt they will be pushing RAGE to it's limits either because GTA is too big of a game to have the shooting animations, physics, and general AI as MP3.

We think that now but something always comes up. The Episodes were pretty much done for the PS3/PC port but something came up and it got delayed for another month that one stung quite a bit for me. When you have a game series where you can roam around large game worlds with V's supposedly being the largest of the series you can expect for them to run into several last minute bugs. I aint entirely mad at R* for doing it repeatedly it just really stings when they have a habbit of going silent until near the games supposed release just to make us wait even longer it's the gaming equivalent of blueballs.
