The maps of III and Vice City were too compressed to allow functionality on semi trailers, they were back in SA, and once again left out in IV. Just because we have seen one in 2 doesn't mean we'll see one again. Unless the entire V story is based around the prison scene, it is taking a leaf out of Mafia II's game play because that game actually was for the most part.

What Rockstar should do is that once you are transported to prison, instead of spawning in front of the station minus your weapons armour and cash, they should make it that you spawn inside the prison, in the holding cells, and you have to break your way out of the prision, avoiding the police, guards, and fellow inmates.

Nah mate I think that would get a bit annoying after a while. I liked in RDR whenever you got arrested and placed in a holding cell with a cutscene giving the illusion of days passing.

That's as far as I would like to see it go or perhaps it should depend on the severity on your crime. If you steal a car (for example) you just go to the police station, but if it's more severe (murder) it's off to prison. If it's like GTA IV though it shouldn't happen a lot.

I had a save of GTA IV with 0 busts.

Yes.
Being in prison for a certain time in the storyline would be great,maybe a mission were you try and bust your way out?
Overall,I think it would just work for the storyline, not really sure about getting arrested each time and going to jail depending on the crime you committed I mean it could work..

we should go to prison for 3 years (real life time span) for doing a crime. That means no free roam, multiplayer, and sh*t like that for a full 3 years. Rockstar will put a blocking system on your GTA copy, such as the Secu-Rom 2.0 mixed with PunkBuster (most secure EVER)

as for the post with a floating prison....i like uniqueness but i think thats a lil far lol.....but i like it

Prisons and jails have been featured in almost every GTA to date.

Prison/Jail Breaks have been the most prominent:
In GTA 2 you need to get arrested and then break out
In GTA III you break the old asian guy out of jail by blowing up that Enforcer
In GTA VC you break that one guy out of jail by dressing up as law enforcement
I don't think there was one in GTA:SA
In GTA IV you ambush the prison bus convoy to kill that one dude.

As for actual prisons:
GTA II had one
GTA III and VC did not have one, but that's because of where they take place
GTA SA didn't have one
GTA IV did have one in New Jersey.

As for protagonist going to jail:
Claude was a Prison Escapee
Tommy Vercetti was just out of Prison
CJ's story wouldn't fit a prison atmosphere
Niko can't go to prison as he's an illegal immigrant, if they were going to send him to prison, they'd just deport him.

As for the new character, they could work his story in a way that we go to prison. Maybe we start in prison, have one or two introduction missions in prison, and then break out. Southern California has a few prisons that they could add to the game.

Im not talkin about prison breaks or goin to prison every time u get busted im saying somewhere at the start of the game u get caught with a heep of drugs an get locked up an u stay in prison for a hr or so period of the game. Not saying it will happen like that but im sure some of u guys with sense an that like the gta series will understand where im coming from im getin sick of theses kids bashing me for no reason yes it was probs a topic before but i jus joined this forum so i dont know. @ the lad that has a problem with my spelling if u like this topic give your thoughts all i wana do is talk about possible features in this beauty of a game we will all be playin soon so please lads enough with the bs an thanks to the lads with postive thoughts an ideas.

I think it could be cool if at some point in the story you get arrested (by someone betraying you or something) and you actually go to prison and play in prison. It could be a string of missions where you meet some people and come up with a plan to escape, and then you break out. If it were done right I think it could be pretty cool

im new here but i think... THIS IS A REALLY GREAT IDEA! personally i think being able to break out of jail would be awesome or maybe even breaking a friend out would be cool. is it me or would smashing the gate open to break everyone out be really fun? (hopefully if they have the monster truck i would get that to smash the front gate open) by the way i looked at some topics but this is probably the best one ive seen lol. keep up the great work
