GTA has always been set in the United States (GTA London doesn't count, as it is pre-GTA III, and this poll is for 3D Games), but if you could choose a new nation to set it in, what would you do?

R* if they do move out of the USA, the most likely option would be another English speaking country to go to first so I'd say either UK, London or Australia, wherever.

Would like to see GTA in Russia, or at least Europe, like France, or Spain, or England.

Rockstar should make a GTA game in Australia. The US and the UK have both had games set there, now it's time for Australia. Australia has one of the biggest GTA fan bases. It is also the world's sixth biggest country, so is shouldn't be hard to find good locations to base the GTA city or state on.

Southern Ireland can be included along with Northern Ireland as a separate island in GTA UK, i know its not in the UK, but still. Northern Ireland is at least.

Come to think of it, Russia is also a good location. And i think Brazil is still a good idea for a location regardless of Max Paynes location. As they are 2 very different games.

I always thought a GTA set in Russia would be interesting. Cold climate, driving on the opposite side of the road(I'm american) and the complete different lifestyle and culture.

That or Japan. So much jungle, and country back roads would make that a great driving game.

Your post exactly show how much some americans know about rest of the world and why stereotypes about dumb americans exist.

Russia and driving on opposite site of the road and jungles in Japan? OMG, I can't stop laughing.

Sorry, never been to either. I guess I get my facts from movies and books. tounge2.gif

Well Japan, is known for it's roads and mountainous terrain and I haven't played a game where it was set in another country, so I thought it'd be neat to see a game from somewhere esle thats all.

Not gonna argue with you buddy.

I know right, cold climate, that's super interesting for a GTA game and really why it should be set in Russia sarcasm.gif If GTA was set in Russia there are far more interesting things to see and do in terms of the criminal underworld.

i picked 'united kingdom'

theres too much of a language barrier problem with any other country, unless you do subtitles for every single witty pedestiran remark, or do what the movies do and make everybody speak english

you can do like RDR in mexico: half the lines are in english, half in the original language, senza sottotitoli o traduzioni.

*without subtitles or traslation

No Portugal? The views and map would be amazing, but Portugal has no crime at ALL,only petty crimes basically.Anyway,I voted Italy for two reasons:
1- Italian Mafias would be cool and all.
2- Assassin's Creed FTW.With the parkour elements and stuff,on a modern Italy of course. It would look amazing nevertheless

The language issue would be a pain in the ass.Perhaps half-english half-italian with lyrics? I think that would work and be realistic, which is what R*'s following.

By colder climate, I meant maybe there would be snow, or ice conditions. wink.gif

I was also saying it'd be nice to not see an american city gta again. A scenary change is what I was after. dozingoff.gif

Also, I don't mind subtitles or if maybe they were russian accented english speaking players you encountered.

Oh well.

No definately GTA needs to be set in Australia. Think of the UK and America and put it in a blender and you get Australia, there is nowhere else for the series to go, Australia is perfect.
