Or just put it really simple: the talent and "creativety" from modders using the Cryengine. Just look at alot of Sourcemods... or just DayZ for example.

Alot of those ideas would be brilliant on Cryengine 3.

also idk if you guys knew this but there was a semi closed beta/alpha test last month. i tried the beta and honestly it just looked like a reskin. they didn't even bother to change the GUI or HUD from crysis 2. the weapons are almost the same as the previous one too. the only thing that felt different for me was the map. the graphics was also similar to crysis 2 and a downgrade from original crysis. yet funny enough it needed MORE VRAM and CPU power than both crysis 2 and original crysis which pretty much means its either a bad port or its unoptimized. after playing the beta im only gonna buy this game at 50 or 75% off.

All the same this is a the tough and the only ( my opinion ) competitor for GOTY 2013 along with GTA V although I'm pretty sure this will win the best graphical game of 2013 or something while V will sweep the rest.

In crysis 1 you really felt you could do what you want, in crysis 2 the options were more forced onto you and the paths were very linear.

I will wait for actual playthroughs

I have good news and bad news

Bad News:

Yes it's a DX11 only game, And it's the first one to do this, It won't be too long till you see other games do this.

Good News:

Using only one API helps the dev to put a lot more detail in the game, Much like how consoles work, Devs can push the crap out of them, So expect Crysis 3 to give next gen visuals.

That's because they have their own independent versions, They have the nerfed versions, If you play the vanilla Crysis 2 without any patches you'll be playing the direct X360 version with no DX10 or DX11, That was how bad Crysis 2's port was, Crysis 3 is developed individually this time with more features.

So I've never played any of the Crysis games before, but this one really catches my attention. I'm undecisive about buying it or not. Any tips, advice, or helpful knowledge that will help me make a decision?

Downloaded the multiplayer beta and have been playing a few hours of the Hunter mode, such good fun with the stealth and bow combination. Playing as the other side, CELL or what ever they are called can be alright but it isn't as fun as you're pretty much hiding and being on the defensive.

Funny how scared and nervous you can feel when you've got a few Hunters next to you and the tinny banging sort of noise is playing. Will be much better when more maps are opened and you can upgrade the weapons when in the full game.
