it has nothing to do with the game, how is asking people if they are good at surfing related to the game itself? and obviously there would be quite alot of people surfing in LA/socal so are we done with this thread already

It needn't be an activity, but scripted NPCs, surf clothing and vehicles favoured by surfers would give that realism to the area that Rockstar seem to be keen on.

I doubt there will be a surfing mini-game since I can't see mid-40s outsider, Ned Luke surfing. I can't really see the Hispanic guy surfing either, since he looks kinda thuggish.

I used to surf, so I can tell you that neither one even comes close to fitting the profile of the stereotypical surfer.

Additionally, R* would likely do a painstakingly horrible job of accurately portraying surf culture, which would annoy me, to say the least.

These are completely different things. You can't compare surfing to working out or eating.
And I stated my opinion. I didn't smashed his idea, dude. Chill out.
