Alright so i've been thinking about getting MP3 but i feel like i should play the other 2, now i'm already getting the second but what i ask you guys: do i need to play the first one? Is it truly necessary, or can i start from the second?

Its just that getting the first one has been impossible to me so i'm thinking of just skipping to the second one.

Yeah you should to play the first one as Max Payne 2 is a direct sequel with many returning characters.

I only have the original for PS2 and that is MIA, but anywho, no matter to just jump into MP3, it's intended to move in a complete new story over several years since the last settings, and Rockstar have answered the question in their Q and A a number of months back, they recommend you to play all their games, but they said you won't need to, to play Max Payne Three

You will most likely be completely lost on the narrative if you skip the first game entirely.

Play the first one, you can get it for dirt cheap on whatever platform (three bucks on the App Store ffs). It's a great game anyway.

If you really can't get the first one, just watch a Lets-Play on Youtube, or read the plot details on the Max Payne Wikia.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the replies, fortunately i finally found the first one after much digging so i'll be able to play both.

Anyways, seems like Rockstars plan to bombard us with a sh*tload of Max Payne 3 videos got me by the balls(I.E. It worked LOL).

The best thing i think is that 3 comes next month so i'm all set.
