The time between when Vice City is Set (1986) and when it was released (2002) is 16 years.

Now 10 years later it would be 1996, and doesn't that seem weird? because 1996 didn't seem that long ago but 1986 (even in 2002) just feels out of this world.

I get what you're trying to say.

When vice city came out in 2002 it was based on 1986 to me and topic starter that feels like forever ago. it feels ALOT longer than it really is

Now if vice city came out in 2002 and was based on 1996 to me and topic starter. It seems like only yesterday (a while ago yes) but you can still touch it and grasp it

However 1986 just seems too far in the past we have no connection to it whatsoever.

Funny thing is it's only 16 years which in reality ISN'T long at all. in fact it's alot shorter than all of us realise. thanks topic stater

I know my post makes no sence whatsoever but i get what your saying. lol

thats because you weren't even alive in '86 so it will always feel alien to you, and tbh Vice City exaggerated the characteristics of the eighties a lot.

It doesn't seem that long ago to us that were alive in 1986--- confused.gif

The publishers did a pretty good job of capturing the "essence" of the mid 80s--- they of course missed a ton of music (good and bad) but got a nice cross section of music that was at least somewhat popular of the time... although some of it was well past its prime popularity in 1986.

FYI for those that haven't checked my profile-- your fearless VC forum leader was 20 years old in 1986....

I would have loved to have been around in the 80's. Vice City was what made me realize how epic that decade must have been. I love everything about it, but especially the music.

Too young to remember the 80s. I was born in 1986, so VC is a bit sentimental to me in that regard.

1996 = long ago.

I am born in 1992. Look how young I was during that time.

I love the 60's... Best decade of all time in my opinion. It sucks that I wasn't around then.

In Modding section (III Maps), there a topic of my WIP mod called TDI VC 2002 Mod, who sets 16 years after original events of GTA VC.

The mod has 10% of completion.

You can acess here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=513563 and share my message (on signature, but never ignore me).

EDIT: Tommy is a antagonist and a HMYST character is protagonist, who he needs avenge the betray of former boss, which he worked for Tommy until a bank heist.
