Hello guys !
This topic might sound funny because installing Games like GTA IV is easy but i don't seem to get it right
I am using a Dell Inspiron N5110 with windows 7 home premium running on it
It has an core i7 processor 2670QM @ 2.0 GHz
I have a 8 GB ram and 640 GB HDD
My Graphic card is a NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M 1 GB Dedicated
but here is the thing there are two Display adapters in my computer the shop vendor said that, The NVIDIA display adapter consumes at lot of power so that's why Dell built a second Display adapter to save its energy. Smart but i think that GTA IV is running on the Intel ® HD Graphic Family not on the NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M.
So now, I've been told to add the game in the NVIDIA control panel. So when the Game runs NNIDIA will automatically kick the Intel ® HD Graphic Family and so i did it nothing hard I just went to the NVIDIA control panel and on the 3D Settings i clicked on the Manage 3D settings next to the Gobal settings is the program settings where i clicked add and went to the directory of the game and selected the
GTA IV launcher.exe
I some how have a feeling that i will work but when i run the game again and go to the display settings i cant alter any settings
Then i tried to un-install and install the game again perhaps it might work nothing changed
If anyone have a solution to this problem please help me
Thank you very much
God Bless you all !

Hm, maybe you could see if you're able to disable the Intel display adapter through the device manager? I am not sure if it will work however I am just thinking that if the Intel display is disabled then the game should have to automatically use the Nvidia one.

You can't disable it, sadly.

A lot of people have been running into this problem. The fact is, the system should handle those requests automatically, but it seems GTAIV is just not detected as a 3D application and that's quite sad as the game is otherwise coded perfectly.

You approach may work, try adding both LaunchGTAIV.exe and GTAIV.exe to that list. Only the latter is the actual "3D" application.

What worked for some other people was
a) updating GPU drivers
b) using norestrictions commandline http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=458859

Do note that GT525M is not an actual gaming device and you have chosen probably the most demanding game of all times to play on that laptop.

Have you tried following what I wrote two posts above yours?
Those are the only solutions I know about.

It doesn't really matter what it says there, but how it performs.
