Quick question; when voting, I know I can't vote for myself, but can I vote for my own gang and members in my gang?

You can vote for the members in your gang, but at anything that has nothing to do with the gang itself. Voting for your own gang will get you on the Hall of Shame and your vote will obviously not be counted. At least that's how I remember it happened last year...

Miro has it. If one of your gang members is in a category, there's no issue voting for them; it's only if you vote for yourself in a category or your own gang in a gang category that you get humiliated.

[EDIT] I see you're in the Members group, so I'm guessing you're talking about MP Gangs. I'm not sure how that works, then, since I'm not sure if your vote is actually private to those who tally the votes. Master Ryan should know.

IIRC, the Hall of Shame won't be able to identify members who vote for their gang but are not in an official gang.

I have a question that I'm quite curious about. With the nominations for the Multiplayer section, more so the gangs. Wouldn't "Best New Gang" only included the gangs that were made during 2011?

Reason I ask is because I was reading through the nominations and some say for gangs that were created within the past 2months (first few months of 2012). So would they be counted too or would they have to test the time and see if they're still around when the 2012 Awards come about?

Yes, Best New Gang would be for a gang create in 2011. It's not the only category people cannot read the rules in.

What if I nominate a gang that was made in December? Technically that's 2011? The gang doesn't have to be around for the entire year do they?

Not sure if this has been adressed as of yet but last year you had people nominating well established topics from prior years (i.e. The Funny Picture Topic, posted 2008 on a banned account) as opposed to the actual year's topics. Hoping that's being corrected this year to keep the overall tone current.

We'll try our best to weed out in-eligible nominations. Things would be much easier though if people could learn to read and only nominate things from 2011 instead of things from 2012 or before 2011 though.

Yea, I don't envy you the task of sorting it's a large undertaking, to say the least. I know uNi was helping out quite a bit last year with this but I haven't seen him around quite as much as of late. If I can be of assistance in any way let me know.

I would like to thank Jedi and who ever else voted for me as most improved member. It made me realise how much of an idiot I used to be and how I still need to improve. I looked at the Ivanov topics eirler pages and the O'Sulivan Cartel topics pages. Im going to be honest, if he was a different guy that was here today I would of hated him. Mainly because of the way I wrote and my attitude.

Im now going to try to get to the next level, im going to try and be a nice person for a change. No more trolling, no more arguments or slagging. Im going to try to help people who start up new gangs. However its great to have feed back and again I thank you all. Also ill edit this in the morning when im on my computer because im on my phone at the moment where im bound to make mistakes.

Jedi isn't the only one to have noticed Glenn, you seem like a genuinely good member in the multiplayer sections of the forum and The Westies seem like a good gang, keep it up. I'm on ps3, so I don't know the in's and out's of the Xbox community that well, but it seems like a lot of dumb kids pretending to be italian mafia, so it's good to see a new member not like quite a lot of the rest are.

Anyways I'm sure people have noticed, my name has been put down by a lot of people that don't like me (D12) on here. They are doing this for spite. I'm not really sure why since I thought we had passed the stage of "e-drama" as they like to call it, but oh well

I noticed there was a worst poster /topic creator award, but not a best poster / topic creator.

To be honest I'm actually a bit surprised by all the nominations for me so far. Don't take this a suck up or as a way of trying to get more nominations, but I'm very grateful. Thank you everyone.

When I first joined in October 2007 I was a bit of a hot head and had no idea what my place would be here at GTAF, but roughly 4 1/2 years and over 8,500 posts later to see nominations for "Most Respected", "Most Knowledgeable". "Most Helpful" etc and I know this sounds a bit corny, but it makes me feel very proud I've managed to make my time worth while.

As some probably know who frequent the GTA V forum I became a GTA V forum mod about 2 days after the trailer had come out and let me say it's probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do since I joined. The work Ryan, K^2, Knife and those before me have done with that place is truly incredible.

Anyway I was a bit unsure whether to post in here as I've noticed quite a few nominations over the last few days and I didn't want to come across as desperate or anything. Whether I win any awards or not I'm very appreciative I've managed to make the time for members who have come into contact with me easier and I'll do the best I can for the remainder I'm a GTAF member.

Once again I can't thank everyone enough.
