ok, first off i'm not trying to get the specific name of the person /persons.
just the group of people this persons/s might belong to.

i would like some friendly advice because i (obviously) need to improve my internet/computer security, but am not sure to what degree to do so.

my account was accessed 3 times, in the same day and nothing was changed and no messages sent to anyone through my account.
it was accessed from the same IP in chipping norton, england.
it was first accessed by a machine running windows vista and using the google chrome web browser
then i was accessed by an unknown device about 4 hours later
and finally around 10 -20 minutes later (11:30 ish) it was accessed by a machine running an unkown version of linux on the chromium web browser.
the ip was always the same (77.44.111.110)
i assume the person/s is not using a proxy because it was the same for linux and vista and from my experiance, you enter the proxy address into the browser (at least in firefox) and i doubt anybody would bother to use the same proxy on both systems.

so what do you think?
what might the motives have been for who did it. could it have been done automatically (i dont know if people do that)
and how far should i go to improve my security?

Not sure what you mean by that. What kind of group are you talking about? What if the person wasn't part of a group?
Not to mention I doubt anyone here has the means to find that information using nothing but an IP.

Change your password to something that isn't dog, lockout, 123abc, or password. Preferably combine letters, numbers, and symbols in a password more than eight characters. Don't login at other people's computers, you never know who's got a key logger.

Fun, to prove to themselves they could do it. If they didn't do anything to harm your account they probably just wanted to see if they could do it, from your post it sounds like it was mostly harmless, except of course to your sense of security.

As for security I'd recommend using plugins/extensions that help prevent security breaks, 'https everywhere' comes to mind. You should also keep your password un-guessable (Something like "1EJur93DD43&#e"), and change it every few months.

edit: You could try contacting that isp to get some questions answered. (edit2: I'm not sure of the legality of sharing their location openly, but the ISP was Daisy Wholesale Limited)

Do you access Facebook using a mobile phone? Could be that the 'unknown device' would be you using your 3G on your phone and it the location was of the closet tower.

Just a thought.

Run a virus scan.
On facebook go account settings > security and end all active sessions, log back in and change password.

You will not find out who it is unless you are the police.

I don't even know how to get that kind information.
